i found myself jigging next to a random i have never met or will meet again, I definitely found a 'folk rave' atmosphere which was great tbh.

Really couldn't be arsed with the crowd at Mumford and Sons so just headed over to watch QOTSA. As usual they were great.

The crowd there was more hostile than Limp Bizkit's which is saying something when a typical Limp Bizkit crowd consists of a bunch of rapists.

Personally, I hate Mumford & Sons. I find their friendly, unconfrontational, careful, middle of the road Folk to be tedious as f**k and as boring as a trip to a funeral for somebody I don't know. Which made it all the more surprising when I stepped into the Radio 1 Thunderdome and found it populated by worried indie kids on one side and enthusiastic arsonists and rapists everywhere else.

Incidentally, I didn't want to see them. It was my girlfriend's idea and they were the band she most wanted to see over the weekend. We were by the Alternative tent eating tea when all of a sudden we saw crowds of thousands heading towards what we thought was the exit. Our conversation went a bit like this:

"Wow, people must really hate Guns N Roses"

What, are they all leaving?

"Yeah must be. Nothing else that way."

...The NME tent is that way

"All I can see from here to the horizon are chavs; they're not going to see Mumford and Sons... are they?"

Delphic are a bit of a chav band; they're on now

"Yeah maybe they're seeing them..."

*approaches NME stage - Delphic are finishing - we make our way into the middle next to the barrier*

"Nobody is leaving..."

They must be here for - WATCH OUT!

*dodges bottle - smashes into the head of a girl in front - blood everywhere*

"f**k!"

"Shit!"

We spent 10 minutes of the set outside watching the screens and even there people were causing trouble. Bottles being thrown everywhere, kids climbing up the NME Tent poles, girls being felt up, verbal abuse as far as the ears could hear - it was f**king hostile. We decided it was for the best if we went over to see QOTSA.

We managed to watch a few songs of Adam Green, then get pretty close to the front at Mumford, on the far left hand side though.

My friend and I are such big fans, it was the last night, the last band we really cared about seeing, we just wanted to dance around.

But the people around us looked soooo angry and fed up... I didn't get what was wrong with everyone?

In response to the mosh pit comment, some lads started a barn dance circle near us haha we ran straight in, it was hilarious.

The crowd at the main stage on friday for The Cribs, Dizzee and The Libs was f**king vile though. Possessed looking morons pushing through non existent gaps. So many people got pulled out over me totally unconscious, it was horrible. So I can imagine what the very front for Mumford & Sons was like.

I went to see Yeasayer / Delphic then wanted to go to the FR stage. Getting out before M&S was the hardest part of the entire weekend.

i like a couple of their songs. I'm not a big fan of all these new folky bands though. The only one i love is Laura marling, but she is just wonderful
