Portable Radio - NOT WIND UP

Guest alix08

Hi all

I love listening to Worthy FM whilst milling about at the tent etc but we've tried the old wind up radio for a few years now and poor himself has to wind it up about every 2 minutes!!!! Can anyone recommend a cheap, AA battery powered FM radio that would do the job? We really want nothing fancy, just so we can tune in whilst having our bacon butty?.....

cheers guys

x

I got a Millets one, yes it is a wind up, it also has a solar panel, and a slot for 2 AAA batteries (and a led torch built in). Ariel is however weak and could snap off.

I found it useful and effective. No longer stocked but if there is a millets nearby they might have some in the sales bin.

I find wind ups a waste of time and won't touch a pure wind up with anyone else s.

A quick google fu suggest a couple from Argos

How about a cheap Nokia PAYG mobile with built in FM radio, and a torch! perfect for glastonbury

Battery lasts for ages - probably the whole week. Its £5 on virgin, £10 on orange from carphone warehouse

I'm listening to it now.. comes with earphones (essential for ariel), however it can be listen to via speaker also.

I'm impressed

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.

    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
