Spare ticket!

Out of the blue yesterday my Girlfriend has decided that she doesnt want to go to Glastonbury which means that i have a spare ticket. Now i understand the official line is that you can't transfer tickets into anyone elses name but if we were to give the ticket away to a close friend (our childrends God parents) and we provide evidence that no money has exchanged hands and the ticket has been given to the our good friend to avoid wasting it do you think there would be a problem with entrance?

Have any other people been in this situation? All advice welcome!!

I don't think they'll take honesty well to be honest, and how is it even possible to prove no money has changed hands? Unless the two look similar it'll be difficult to pull off. There's a chance that you may get lucky and they may not rigorously check the photos, but that's a massive risk to head all the way down to Glastonbury for.

we've used other peoples tickets before with no problems

photo didn't look like the person using the ticket and we

were in the campervan fields so used it to go back and forth

numerous times.

Technically non transferable means just that, so if it's given

or sold it has been transfered... However well intentioned.

Just go for it you'll be fine it's a real shame to waste such

a sought after ticket...

No not at all!! Were solid. We have 2 children and she doesnt get chance to have quality time on her own. She has a couple of projects on the go and i think she wants to use the time to complete them. With the girls at Their Grandparents and me at Glastonbury she will have 4 days of peace and quiet. With a 4 year old and a 1 1/2 year old running round all day you dont get a minute.

Thanks for the replies. It seems as if it might be worth a go. If my mate gets in he will be well chuffed as he will getting the ticket for free. Better than letting it got to waste!!

From North Wales, so far enough. I will get a letter done and some supportive photos should there be any question just to show that we all know each other and that i am not some tout chancing my arm. We are genuine people so fngers crossed. Can anyone think of any contingency plans?

I mean I'd say dont raise the issue just try and go through with it, you know wave the ticket or show it and hope first off that they don't even look at the photo!!

Failing that - if you get refused entry, they don't take the ticket do they? surely they can't as it's been paid for..in which case could be worth trying a different entrance?

although at this point you'd have parked up-but depending upon how far it is could always walk to another entrance and try
