£20 Elgar Notes...

Hi folks,

Just a quick note about erm.... notes.

Thought I would mention it in case any of you turn up with a load of them to Glasto and find that stall holders will not accept them.

They will of course still be legal tender during Glasto and should be accepted (by law I think), but just in case it does cause a few problems - thought should draw attention to it.

£20 notes not accepted after 30th June 2010

Always good fun when bank notes get taken out of circulation - I remember refusing an old tenner (Dickens which was replaced by Darwin) when I worked on a till and the guy thought I was taking the mick. They didn't hav a clue that they had even changed; I'd guess that happens a lot.

I'll miss Elgar's tache.

Notes are routinely taken out of circulation - various reasons include detiriation, forgery, harder to launder (i.e. if criminals are sitting on large wads of them they'll have issues) greater securit in new notes etc.

Not sure when the new tenners (matching the design of the scores) will be released.
