The Pendulum NME day

Contender for worst lineup ever? Jesus! That is just excruciatingly bad. Sorry for the negative post, not really my style. But I just have to know that I'm not the only one to think this. Praying for something good on the Festival Republic stage.

As bad as the pendulum day is, I think the klaxons is even worse. The LCD soundsystem day in my opinion is the best but in any other year would look poor. Also disappointed with the headliners, feel it is really lacking a headliner with a big catalogue as we have seen in recent years such as ash, manics, lostprophets super furries etc who can come and do afestival friednly greatest hit set.

I would have to disagree. Its probably the best day on the poster as far as I'm concerned. Pendulum, Enter Shikari, Crystal Castles, Kids In Glass Houses, Hadouken! & 30H!3 would all be fairly high up my list of bands I'd want to see.

Although I appreciate they aren't the tradtional "reading/leeds" bands of old.

I'm visiting the main stage for three... possibly 4 things.

Gaslight Anthem

Modest Mouse

Libertines

possible Arcade Fire

Other than that... NME stage day all day...

It is awesome for me.

Yeah pretty weak day on the NME, only really Frank Turner I'm paticularly keen on seeing. Though what I've heard from Crystal Castles new album sounds pretty good, so I might try and get into them, especially if they clash with Dizzee Rascal, who I have no interest in seeing.

Pretty poor NME lineup all in all, though last year wasn't great either.

I'm slightly disappointed by the NME this year but in some ways that's not a bad thing as the main stage is so good, especially on Friday and Sunday. On Saturday I'll be watching Pendulum, Serj, Rolo Tomassi and maybe Band of Skulls and 3OH!3.

I was considering starting a topic saying how good the pendulum NME day was. Besides the Get up Kids and Arcade Fire, I probably wont be leaving that stage all day. And its not for a lack of options, I think both the main and Lock-up stage are pretty solid that day too.

I just think for a festival, the bands playing the NME, despite maybe not to everyones taste, are quite diverse, will put on a great show and really get the crowd going.

    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
    • Shambles. Transport and comms garbage. Been looking forward to this since last June and have never been to a more disorganised festival in 30+ years.  Why we were told the whole festival was cancelled for the night if they had put back shows for a few hours?  Pissed off to say the very least and put a huge downer on the rest of the weekend.
    • Rotten communication. Actually god awful. Posting sporadically on IG, closing Mordor only to reopen and cause some serious carnage. Left the festival as it got too much for my 16year old daughter. She was devastated about Alex G and Mac…but TV girl could have saved it. Took us until 1220 and already home to find out they might/are playing. Pish.    and on another note, this festival has lost its bastard soul. Gone are the wee tents with local sellers selling vinyl, t shirts etc, now you can buy a 50 f**king eur official T-shirt. The ar*e is truely out of this event now. I went to Porto for the first time last year and it was fab. I love Barcelona and the line up is always stacked, but this festival is a corporate loss take. Hopefully a better day tomorrow.
    • f**king horrendous and seems they couldn’t run an egg and spoon race.  zero info and the crush waiting to get in to see Massive Attack was potentially disasterous. Zero info, no stewards at all and was told that the whole evening was cancelled, when we got to the exit. Because it rained. First time attendee and i’ve got onsay, i’m far from impressed. Scalping bastard taxis asking €37 plus for an €11 fare too. Wonderdul.
    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
