I see you didn't find the first post I made several weeks ago, where I said they had a habit of doing well against us.

well despite our crap tournament record, we did have some world class players in the past.

The USA are weaker now than they were 12 months ago. I think you're over-estimating them.

It's possible that I'm thinking of the game under Taylor - I can't actually remember when the game was that I'm thinking of.

Selective? You said that they have a habit of beating us or doing well against us, they don't. Prove otherwise and you might have a chance of showing that you haven't used an uninformed opinion as fact.

For you to have the proof, you've have to be perhaps 20 years older than you are.

If you can't manage to do that, oh well. You've not proven me wrong, and I don't care enough to put in the work to prove me right.

Believe it's a guaranteed win if you like. In fact, if it's all so guaranteed, why are we bothering going at all? That was how England used to pretend to be the best when they weren't, and it came as a mighty shock to find out that we weren't by a VERY long way.

Saying we won't is similar to saying Portsmouth would win the cup final last weekend. Not impossible, merely highly improbable.

Yup, the gap is probably closer, but it's still a gap, and therefore would still be a shock if - over three games - England finished 3rd or 4th in our group.

You only think that because your expectations of England are greater than the gap is.
