Anyone Campervanning?

Hi Everyone,

Were going in a campervan this year for the first time, after camping for the last few years.

anyone who is experienced is there anything we should take/remember/be aware of in the specific areas that i might not already know?

I read a thread on this yesterday, but can't remember where, sorry. Try the 'Questions' section, or maybe it was on the MFG

but it had some really good advice in it.

We campervan in the east section last year we thought we would camp on the slope . We had a great view of the festival but ended up sliding down the van all night . My tip camp on the level ground. Also time your entry so you dont get caught in a big queue when you are going in .

1/ Check you have enough gas......the cooking kind not the fizzy cider kind.

2/ Find some nice level ground....as a previous post has said....otherwise you end up either falling out of bed or squashed at the end of your bunk depending on the direction you are facing.

3/ If it rains heavy ( which it wont this year!) check your wheels havn't sunk in.....move the van a little to ensure you can escape.

4/ Cook loads of bacon.....it smells great wafting over the camp site in the morning.

5/ Say hi to your neighbours.....always great to know people when you cant work out why the gas wont come out of the grill and all you can smell is other peoples bloody bacon cooking!

We're also campervan-ing for the first time this year.

Can any one tell me if you get to choose where to park or are you directed by stewards? We are planning on getting there as soon as the gates open so hopefully this will get us near the front close to the festival? Is this right or do they have other fields to fill up first?

We were asked if we want family or normal camping. After that we drove in and were then guided in by the stewards. I don't think you can pick and choose.

Take some bottled water for drinking and if possible fill your water containers before you arrive as the water is the campervan fields was very chlorinated later year.

Remember no glass also applies so check you have none onboard.

Be frugal with your power, and be aware of what uses it up. We have a couple of solar panels, and also took a spare leisure battery, which we didn't actually need.

Take frozen bread & bacon in a cool box, they will last longer, and it saves fridge space.
