So I know there are enough topics around here to keep Jesus busy and this'll probably get lost in amongst the rest soon but ara, I'm giving the heads up.

Villagers, a band from Dublin that have been making quite the waves in the last year or two. Conor J O'Brien's brainchild. They've just been signed to Domino Records, just off tour supporting Wild Beasts and they've their first album coming out in May. Conor is also doing some of their material on next week's Jools Holland so do try and catch it.

I hope they play. I reckon they're going to get a lot of momentum overseas soon enough and I think they utterly deserve it. They are playing in Cork on the 25th of June but there's nothing else around that date, so it's utterly possible. They are playing with Midlake on that date and if they are SR for Glasto, can't see why it wouldn't be possible. I don't care where or when they play, would just love if they did.

Fab, yes! Heard them on Radcliffe and Maconie this week (not live I don't think, just a track) and loved it! Didn't catch what it was called though.

And when you say Jools next week, does that mean Later is back, or just his radio show???

Ive seen them play - pretty good. The album aint bad either!

Some half decent bands coming out of Dublin in the last few years. BATS for example are 'king superb.
