It's coming around to that time of year again, the May bank holiday weekend and for people who are fans of Joe Strummer & The Clash, this usually means one thing - The Strummercamp Festival. The long weekend festival held each year at Cheadle Hulme Rugby ground holds one of the largest tributes to Joe and his music in the North West. Many people come from far and wide to support his legacy. A small and very friendly volunteer run festival, with the aim of listening to decent music at a reasonable cost for all the family, which includes camping, catering and a club house all weekend.

MORE STRUMMERCAMP,LESS SPACE ... a message from the Amigos

Since the festivals debut in 2006 the impeccable & friendly nature of all those who organise & attend our event has been duly noted by the licencing authorities & the committee of our hosts Manchester Rugby Club, who have now decided to grant an extension to our licencing hours during this years festival.

Whereas in the past all of our live music events have been subject to a curfew of 22.55 we are now delighted to announce that the entertainment can now continue until midnight on both Saturday & Sunday of Strummercamp 2010.

Manchester Rugby Club have informed us that it has now secured funding to carry out much needed improvement works to its training pitches at Grove park,these works will be carried out prior to Strummercamp. The nature of the improvements will mean that for this year the training pitches will be designated out of bounds and therefore unavailable for use by festival ticket holders.

As a result of these restrictions and as a courtesy to our hosts we have unfortunately had to RESTRICT THE NUMBER OF TICKETS ISSUED FOR THIS YEARS EVENT,ONCE THESE ARE SOLD THAT'S IT.

ALL PERFORMANCES(except Friday) CAMPING,CATERING,BARS & SERVICES WILL BE CONTAINED WITHIN THE MAIN ARENA.

On Site Car Parking will be strictly limited and issued on a first come, first served basis.

Campervans:-A limited number of hard standing spaces remain for Campervans. These are available to full weekend ticket holders only free of charge by pre-booking via enquiries@strummercamp.co.uk quoting your vehicle reg number and the name & address of the ticket buyer.

Showers will be provided by kind permission of Manchester Rugby Club on both the Saturday & Sunday mornings.

Use of the MRC clubhouse & bars will be at the clubs discretion and announced over the course of the weekend.

All in all apart from it being a bit cosier these temporary restrictions shouldn't cause campers too much disruption, but please be aware that they are in place and remember to GET YOUR TICKET NOW to avoid any disappointment.

so the waiting is over and number 5 is approaching! can't believe it's four years since the first event. those restrictions we are facing this year shouldn't cause too many problems if i get it right. some people might be forced to park elsewhere in cheadle but there should be plenty of space in the surrounding streets.

great line up announced so far - pity that goldblade play rebellion in italy this weekend but i count on their return at strummercamp 6!

Just over 2 weeks now until the 2010 Strummercamp Festival & all the final preperations are taking place for what promises to be an even better bank holiday weekend than last years magnificent event.

This year our capacity has been reduced due to development work at Manchester Rugby Club & ticket availability is now fast becoming an issue.

We still have a limited number of tickets,but these are selling fast, Ticketline are close to selling out their allocation & TNS only have a handful left.

So if you are coming along to Strummercamp 2010 you NEED TO SECURE YOUR PLACE NOW!
