Click on forum or community (tis that long since I posted regularly in there... tis a bit pants!)... It'll take you to a message board called 'Zootopia' If you want to get into the paid section it'll cost you around 30 quid for the honour

Honestly, some of us *are* reasonably normal!!

Yay!!

Strictly speaking, i'm from Liverpool but i've lived in Ossett for the past 17 years or so! I actually love it over here... work is here and i've pretty much been here the vast majority of my adult life so its 'home' now... My accent is pretty screwed though! :P

Hey !

I was brought up in Ossett ! , two of my friends who live there are coming to Glasto for the

first time this year.

A Scouser ! :P When I have time I will tell you why we call our 12 man chilling/smoking tent

"Scouser Tent 2 ! "

:P

Ooooooooh! I'm intrigued! How does one get an invite into the 'smoking tent'? Being scouse and all that I should be an honoured guest... IF I GET A FARKIN' TICKET!!!

If I do get a ticket then that'll be 4 of us from Ossett going!! I'm impressed that 4 people from good old Ossett know about Glastonbury! The highlight of our year is usually the Easter Monday coal race in the village!!

We had two scousers christen our tent last year. I met em at Maximo Park , they were a right

scream. We christened with apple jacks or is it apple sours ?

So you are actually from Gawthorpe ? :P

Re - Tickets

Where were you in October when they came on sale ?

Bonosbaby... You are dead lucky you weren't in line with us... I was tearing my hair out by the time the gates opened! On one side we had a certain group of American ladies complete with make-up bags putting their slap on whilst asking me please not to overtake them as they were certainly getting front row and they couldn't run in their heels... I shit you not! Behind me I had someone quoting that 'Bono would not be pleased' every 10 minutes in regard to being cramped in line and how it was such an infringment on our human rights!

I can SO understand why people think U2 fans are a bit stalkerish and freaky!! LOL

Reminds of when I saw Us2 , I think it was

The singer looked very much like Bono complete with shades etc , and for the first few songs

introduced them and talked in a Bono type accent.

After 4 songs he then introduced the band , saying "we are from Bradford ! " and for the rest of the

show he stuck with his native Yorkshire accent !

:P

Cover bands are hysterical!! A bunch of us obsessive stalkerish U2 types :P met up a few weeks ago in the hip and happening (Shit... did I really just type that?!?!) Ossett as some coverband was playing in the Maypole pub where Mr Digi works - Us4U2 (and I think they are local) very VERY funny and they got much better the more booze that was consumed - in fact, they played the best version of With or Without You that I have heard in nearly 20 years!

Bonosbaby - October sounds good!! The Ossett hospitality was fab - shame you missed out on bacon sarnies at our house at daft o'clock! Feck knows how I didn't burn the house down

Oh... and I really quite like BSP - I'll apply for the restraining order now!

    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
