As for the boys who are obviously squirming at all these period talk, it really is quite normal, bless you! If you don't like reading about ladies' "minkies" during their "time of the month" then you might want to stop reading this thread hahaha.

I read it all and it's just wrong. I imagine my face was looking rather scared and disturbed all the while

As Clareno7 said, it sounds like you'd get some kind of infection if you just gave it a wipe down with some loo roll or something. Blerrrrgh.

I don't see why...i mean (some) women like to have cocks up there, and they're hardly hygenic! your lady garden's pretty good at defending itself againt unwanted stuff, and toilet paper's designed to be used down there in the first place.

I'm all for the mooncup thing, and at some point i will give it another go. But i totally agree with people saying having a period at Glasto would be awful....all hail The Pill!

One of my funniest memories was taking a tampon (NEW OF COURSE) and showing my male friends how it works (NOT ACTUALLY SHOWING THEM DOWN THERE, JUST DEMONSTRATING IT IN MID AIR!)....i think i scarred them for life :D

I feel like I should jump here and defend the mooncup- they're ace! My periods are so much easier to deal with since I've been using one. Mind you, the most depressing thing I had to do post- childbirth was having to order a bigger one...

I've never had to use one at a festival though, so I'm not sure of the logistics of rinsing it out before putting it back in- I suppose you'd have to take a bottle of water into the loo with you, rather than running out to the nearest sink with your knickers around your ankles.

You might THINK its unhygenic to wipe it out and rinse it once a day but thinking and facts don't always go hand in hand :P it's medical grade silicone, your ladygarden is a wonderful disease fighter, and the only place its been is inside you! The key is to make sure your hands are clean when you're emptying it, that's just the same as a tampon.

I have used mine at Glasto, it was a dream. I cleaned it with tissue, rinsed it when I needed to, and used sterilising tablets just to be sure. If you can feed a baby at glasto then you can use a mooncup :P This year, however, I have a prescription from a helpful nurse :P

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
    • In a 6,800-word Substack essay, external, the Clacton MP said "anti-white racism was embedded into the state", and that legislation aimed at equality was a form of "social cleansing"   .https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdjkd4mp93zo   The privileged white c**t hasn’t got a clue what racism is.
