The Brother's Tent/Stage

Life is not that simple - Contracts with Sponsors run for years so you cant break them on a whim.

It was Mendip Council who barred the sale of 2Ltr Cider bottles so that is a non starter.

The Council if they wish could bar everyone from taking in alcohol into any area of the site.

I don't understand.. I get why Brothers can't sell on the main bars etc, I was bever really suggesting that, but I dont understand why the tent can't be bigger.. I'm not even talking about a bigger stock, just a bigger space to sell it in :-)

and making it a feature as it's such a popular place to drink/meet people for a cider?

The Brothers cup litter problem is easy to cure !

At V festival they put a 10p deposit on the Carling cups. I see loads of people collecting up all the cups to get a few quid in their pockets. All that is needed is a small recycle station that gives you 10p for each Brothers cup returned to them.

At V you still get loads of rubbish but none of it is Carling cups.

Downside is a pint of Brothers will cost 10p extra.

AFAIK the deal with booze supplies for the festival is that Gaymers has the contract to supply their own cider to the bars and thats it.

No other ciders can be sold in thw bars, and I'd guess Gaymers have to pay an absolute stack to get those rights.

Brothers can run their bar, because they cut a deal with the festival to supply cider from its own bar, before the Gaymers deal was signed.

Gaymers was owned by Showerings (but not any more), and Brothers is owned by the Showerings brothers, and theres no love lost there.

the fact that Brothers can even run another bar is pretty impressive - Music festivals dont tend to have non-exclusive deals for booze sales

Of course the other thing is that some people in GFL have a mischeavous sense of humour and like to keep their suppliers on their toes. Gaymers wouldn't want to lose that contract, and having brothers niggling away at them can't be very comfortable)
