Muse were interviewed by BBC 6Music during the Music Producers Guild Awards event, and releaved interesting plans for their performance at Glastonbury:

"Hopefully we'll get Eavis onstage. Get him to sing Imagine by John Lennon. It's 30 years since he died or something so we are going to try and put all those things together and get the wise farmer to sing some very wise words." - Matt.

Good ol' Muse :P

We could get Emily joining in on violin, like she did in '85.

Although it could turn out like this scene reported from '78

http://www.ukrockfestivals.com/glasto78.html

The farmer was up on stage with a band called Pedro, and he was doing a few "Hendrix""stage antics with an unplugged guitar, which one of these stoned-out freaks objected to and mounted the stage to try and drag the farmer off and generally make a scene up there on stage.

sadly not - as you can see on the other picture on the page Mr Eavis (on the tractor) has been sporting a shiny bonce and a gnomes beard since 78

It's hardly gimmicks, it's getting the festival organiser on-stage for a sing-along, where he will receive a well deserved rapturous reception.

I saw Eavis and Geldoff on stage the other year talking about poverty. It would have been much better if they had sung There's a hole in my bucket.

There's a hole in my bucket dear Robert dear Robert, there's a hole in my bucket dear Robert, a hole.

Then fix it Dear micheal dear Micheal dear Micheal then fix it.........

It'd be the most cringeworthy gimmick imaginable.

But seeing as it's Muse who can do no wrong in some people's eyes, I'm sure it would be spectacular and memorable. :P
