For the first time since I've gone to Glasto, I'm actually excited about seeing one of the headliners. This year will be year number seven for me, so I think I'm due one. So to people who don't like the headliners - tough. It's my f**king turn.

<Applauds>

AND it'll probably be my last Glastonbury for a fair while, so I feel the same way.

Awesome headliners - check.

Some decent acts already rumoured further down the bill - check.

LOADS more acts to be confirmed - check.

Sun......

Sun......

SUN????!????!???

I think Stevie Wonder would of been better in a sunset slot of sunday late afternoon personally rather than a headliner but noone can deny his influence on music. Im really happy with 2 out of 3 headliners though and to be honest there are so many bands on and things to do it doesnt really matter if you like him of not.

Im hoping for Daft Punk on the other stage sunday night.

The OP has just posted this on the Bon Jovi thread.

I used to be a Bon Jovi fan but their last few albums (everything since Crush) has been awful. I would go if they did a greatest hits gig but promoting their new album? I don't think so. Although having said that, if they were playing Glastonbury, I'd still go and watch.

So I think we can put this entire debate in a box, put the lid on it, and put it on the dusty shelf in the e-festivals attic reserved for idiocy.

I can't help but think that we might all save a lot of time - and save efestivals some hard disk space / bandwidth - if the Stevie fans amongst us could perhaps agree on a standard text responding to those individuals who think he shouldn't be headlining. Anyone fancy a pop at first draft? We could have it posted somewhere and just link to that post, or something like that. I think it'll just save a lot of time and fuss in the long-term.

    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
