Yes, it's outside the city - on the coast at a place called Alges. And yes, drinks are a lot cheaper in Portugal than in, for example, Spain. :P

just booked our flights to Lisbon! Anyone know exactly how to get to the venue using public transport from the downtown Lisbon area? Would be much appreciated. Also, anyone know when more acts will be announced? Especially the headliner on the saturday night! Could be interesting, if not then i'll pass on that day.

Hi. Ending the shows you have free bus but only for the camping park of Lisbon, so the other options are:

-Catch a taxi but normally there are very long queues, I think it's not a good ideia;

-Catch a bus, I think they only go to Cais do Sodré but maybe there are some buses that goes to other places. Normally there are long queues also.

-The other option is go by train to Cais do Sodré and there catch a bus or a taxi to the hotel area. Normally I catch the train and after a taxi to go home. If you come back by train I recommend you to buy the train ticket when you go to the festival.

The best way to go to the festival, from the hotel is to catch the underground at S.Sebastiao, near Gulbenkian and go to Baixa Chiado. At Baixa Chiado you change for the green line and catch the underground until Cais do Sodre. After that train to Algés.

Probably at the official site you have more information about the transports.

Cheers
