Since the fence went up it has for sure changed the demographic. The fest is safer, less theft etc etc.

Is the benefit of this at the cost of the buzz?

Dont get me wrong it still goes off like nowhere else, but it appears just not so much.

Is there just a different crowd now, happy to sit have a drink & watch from the comfort of a chair? Or is something else going on? Obviously there are a lot of poepple havin it but cant remember seeing a croud like @ FLC '99 or Faithless '02?

In a lot of ways I think of pre 2000 and post 2000 as two different festivals. You'll never get the vibe back from pre-superfence festivals, but on the plus side is it's harder to get your tent robbed or have to deal with the odd dodgy moment. Swings and roundabouts innit.

We all have to mature at some points in our lives - Glastonbury is exactly the same.

If Glasto had stayed the same as the pre-fence years there's every chance it wouldn't be here today. I'd rather have a mellowed Glasto than no Glasto at all.

If you want the best buzz and vibrance of Glastonbury then you need to head to Shangri-La, Trash City and Arcadia at 3AM. The place is amazing
