I really like the look of this one for the Friday, there's H's all over the UK, with one big H holding a big arm up saying to the low in the NW "sorry mate, if you aint got an H on you can't come in"

Hi sunnies, I did you all a favour yesterday and made a deal with the weather gods on twitter, I tweeted this :P

Dear weather, could we please have a downpour this week so you get it out your system, love #glasto punters

Hi devonhammer, I looked on the ECM site but could not see any data feeds (e.g. XML, CSV) of the raw data. If you know the URLs for any of these then yes, I'm sure I could knock up an Android app so you can see this data on the move. Though probably easier to just fire up your browser on the phone and go to the site  .

I read that post about biblical rain and 120mph winds in complete beleif - until it said about killing women and childen! What a tosser! I'm so gullible!

If you ask me (and you didn't, but it's a forum so....) the forecasts seem to be getting slightly better now, and I for one, have absolute faith in that brilliant, sparkly, warm lump of high pressure. I beleive it has a ticket for Glasto and it'll stay for the duration.

YAY! :D

Met Office hasn't changed their outlook:

UK Outlook for Sunday 20 Jun 2010 to Tuesday 29 Jun 2010:

Into the beginning of the new week, it should remain largely dry for most areas of the UK, with variable cloud and sunny periods. The exception being more cloud and occasional mainly light rain at times in the far north, and isolated light showers in southeastern parts, possibly extending to other areas by mid-week. It will feel warm in any prolonged sunshine, especially further south and west, and in light winds. Temperatures should be near or above normal, though cooler on northern and eastern coasts with a fresh northeasterly breeze. There is a trend to turn more unsettled for most parts later next week and into the weekend, mainly for the north and west, with spells of rain or showers. Temperatures remaining near or slightly above normal.

As I'm only a meteorologist by training (and that was 20 years ago), I'm bowing down to your knowledge in a big way.

As a professional which forecasts are best? I've been using GFS for long range (which I find to be pretty poor) and a mixture of ECM, yr.no and UKMO for short range. I tend to favour ECM and yr.no, but I haven't been using yr.no for long. I'd love to know what you think.

... and most importantly, will it be dry?

    • mmm... i note there are several derogatory comments about this... not sure what it says about me, but i could spend a happy afternoon here...   Simple Minds, Deacon Blue and Texas are all great live bands.   hell, i'd even be drawn away from the bar to see James Blunt (if only for a bit of a nostalgia trip for his show on the Pyramid that i admit i hugely enjoyed).   still, with all that said - there's no way i'm going to the other end of the country for it...   🙂

    • Have a great festival to those that are going, I cant wait to get there tomorrow!
    • ah i get ya.. Yeah I hate festivals that have that barrier and front section. Roskilde is gonna be the same, which I'm not looking forward to navigating. Like you say, you end up missing other stuff having to get there dead early. Luckily there's not much we're arsed about on at Roskilde though so that wont be such an issue! hahaha
    • Not directly my expectation but my wishlist   - car seat headrest (it has been way too long these guys did Europe) - death cab for cutie - new constellations - interpol - bush - swimschool - suede - the haunted youth (should have been there this year) - flipturn   and oh yes Yumi Zouma can come any week, day, hour but this is a personal fetish with this band
