Touts In the Carpark At Leed

Did anybody see these people in the carpark asking people to take wristbands off so the could get in?

One guy Asked me if i would take it off, when I told him no he started calling me a loser and such for wanting to keep my band on.

There was a group of 5 people in the carpark near the A64 trying to get people to put their arms into their car so they could forceibly get the wristbands off people (saw them try to do it to one person)

Then when I went back into the campsite I saw 2 blokes who had got in with other peoples wristbands and one of them said "now were in we can cause some shit tonight"

Now seriously how can this happen, leeds festival site is half a mile down a private dirttrack. It only takes a quick glance and peoples ticket at the carpark entrance to get these idiots off site. One of them (the top one i explained) was even doing it next to security at orange campsite entrance. Something needs to be down next year.

so some people did lose their bands? that'd be them out of luck for the festival then i guess? can't see a replacement band being given

I walked a female friend to the coaches on Saturday night. She was absolutely wasted and was practically set upon by two guys wanting her wristband. This was at around 1am, so the only reason they wanted her day-pass was to get in and steal/vandalise. I told them to f**k off, but if she'd been on her own i'd have worried about her safety.

The thing about the guy calling me a loser was that he was parked up in a car NEXT to the entrance for orange campsite, surely someone could walk over and get him to leave but the security just ignored him

There were lots of people after wristbands right outside the Reading site on Saturday and Sunday night too. They weren't being too agressive, but seriously, if it's the end of the last night of the festival, what else do you want my wristband for except to get in and cause trouble or nick stuff.

Makes me really wonder how many people do sneak in (and whether the festival needs a better pass out system, like Glastonbury, though given the volume of people coming and going I doubt it'd be workable).

i was stewarding on the gate into orange campsite thurs evening/night. it wasnt till late evening we were made aware there were wrist bands being stolen and given the number of those wrist bands. from then on we checked every single wrist number going in or out, although i doubt this will of continued all weekend and doubt they will have been checked like this at every single entrance and doubt every stolen wrist band will have been reported.

i dont know about the other gates but at orange once the security were aware of it undercover security were placed around to look out for the touts but not sure how successful they were : / i know there were some guys coming through orange gate who came back three seperate times after changing their clothes to try and get in.

it's a shame there's no simple solution, noone wants the less than desirables to get in at all, least of all with someone elses wristband

perhaps more security staff positioned around the entrances to campsites/car park / checking if someone has a ticket before letting them into a car park/the area surrounding the entrances?

Wow this is news to me..its seriously scary. I did see touts in the car park which was just near

the main camsite entrance but all this selling/stealing used wristbands is disgusting.

Someone asked me along the river at Reading, I informed him that I was just using Bloc Party's set for a tactical pub turd, he asked why I didn't use the toilets onsite. Obviously not a regular.

Some characters about aren't they I can't think why anyone would do that ever drunk or not if someone asked for my wristband i'd tell them to politely fornicate a family relative
