The Prodigy

I thought they were good at Reading, but admittedly I've never seen them before. I was in a perfect area for them too, in front of the screen on the right about 20ish people back, room for dancing. :) ..

however I saw lots of people coming out with various injuries and the start of my shift as a CAT working from midnight till 8am involved checking up on lets of people who took blows to the head who were worrying if they had concusion...

I thought the Prodigy tracks that were played at Beef Warehouse had more atmos than the real

thing !

Still off to see em in Doncaster next year tho !

Thought they leaned a bit too heavy on the new album, but then with a new "generation" of fans and promoting the album it was to be expected I think.

Unfortunatly for me due to the crowd swaying about slightly, we ended up about 20 yrds in front of the back speakers on the left hand side at Reading. Couldn't really hear it as we were relying on the speakers coming from the stage so the sound was really low lots of people chanting "turn it up" throughout the set.

Luckily I got within 10 yrds of the front barrier at Glastonbury back in June so wasn't too upset about it!

I thought they put on an amazing show. Fine if people dont want to be crushed or whatever but if you are down the front of the prodigy its not going to be all friendly and apologising for stepping on toes during a hit. I wish I could have been down the front as I imagine being on drugs(not a real user) and down the front of the prodigy is one of the best feeling in the world. I was far back and in one of the pits there and had a adrenalin rush I havent had since seeing Rage Against The Machine the year before. Next to Radiohead they were my fav band of the weekend and just because 'yob' fans were there shouldnt put the band down. If some 'Emo' fans were at a Prodigy gig and were 'standing there not avin it' then would you expect the 'yob' fans to complain. Everyone to their own. & for Pendulum 'being where its at', need to take a long hard look at that as making comedy 'dance' music when they used to be a heavy band shows them throwing music backwards in time.

Ummmm as much as I love the Prodigy, they started with 'Charly' which was sampled from a kids' safety information TV advert and was VERY comedy cheese! :D They started as a rave band, then brought in their punk influences later.
