Tents

I've been using a pop-up tent for ages. Bought it at Blacks - i think it's called the Magic 2xt. I absolutely love it. It's double skined and once erected looks a bit like the Batmobile. It's withstood all kinds of weather without ever leaking, it's dark inside during daylight and pretty well ventilated. The only problem with pop-ups is that they don't have a porch area, but for convenience i'd never go back.

Definitely worth getting a more expensive model (mine was about £70) as the little single skinners are pretty flimsy and seem to be pretty fly-away.

Yeah if I get one I'll get the best one I can find, quite willing to shell out some money on it. Would ruin the festival if all your stuff/you get soaked during the night so it'd be worth it. So double-skinned is a must. Any specific makes better than the other or doesn't it work like that with tents?

QUECHUA!!!

if you have a decathlon nearby or are willing to pay more to get one off ebay

I love the thing, my gf thinks I'm slightly obsessed with it :)

I have a 3 man Quechua pop up, double skinned, I think it was around 45 quid when I bought it earlier in the year, which I think is a bargain considering most of the single skinned "2 man" rubbish seems to be selling for 30 quid...

Took it to Latitude when there were a few downpours and not a drop of water came inside the tent all weekend. It's also pish to put up. Putting it down is a different story, however, at least the first time ;)

I have a Quechua 3 man too, bought it in 2007, it was only £30. It is still going strong after 2 V Fests where it has pissed it down all weekend. As someone else has said, the only disadvantage is the lack of porch area.

Just remember to practice putting it up and down before you go so you don't look silly come Monday morning!

Quechua user here too!

Bought the 2-Man Air 2 second pop up... went up so damn easy... got it down in about 2mins...

The air one tho was brillant at Download considering it was quite hot.. opened the side flaps of the tent and the breeze just came right in... perfect really..

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
