FIRST TIMERS

This was my first glasto and I absolutely loved it. Shangri La was possibly my fav area. It felt like the back alleys of Hong Kong or something, loads of little hidden secret things which made me want to keep returning.

On thursday night I stayed up till 9 with some brilliant people (despite all my friends sleeping at around 1) who I met in stone circle due to a glowing blue balloon. Stone circle didn't seem to be as good on other nights though so I wandered around every bit of the site that looked interesting.

On the forums everyone was certain that after going to glasto Reading would seem inferior, however in my eyes it isn't. They are just way too different to compare. There is just something about the Reading atmosphere that gets me pumped. Either way Reading and Glasto are the highlights of my year. I just pray that I never have to choose between them.

Therefore I will definitely be returning!

I normally do reading too its just not happened this year cause tickets went too quickly plus im going to spain now instead. But i do like reading, just the fact of the theiving c**ts and the fires and people acting like c**ts on the sunday after the music, always catch the last train home though anyway.

been to lots of festivals before but always avoided Glastonbury, thought it was just too big. Having been there once I just cant imagine not going again, it is magical, truly, a scary Brigadoon that pops up in Somerset once a year.

This was our first time and having discussed it we now concider it a recce, we now have a bit of an idea of where we want to spend our time, I cant wait.

For me, if I dont see an act on the Pyramid I will be happy but there are other parts of the town (170,000 people, thats a town) that I could stay at forever.

This was my first Glasto. I went with two other newbies, neither of whom are planning to return next year. so I guess I'll be booking myself a space at the Efest singles meet in 2010

Took my parents along with me this year , my stepdad absolutely loved it, he regularly goes camping anyway and has also gone to festivals before. My mother, well when packing before the festival she asked me "if there will be somewhere to plug in a hairdryer" , she loved the festival but I think they will only return if they will be staying in a campervan. Gotta admit the camping was rough for me this year too..

David and Nigel didn't have a good time then? Trouble finding the stage? Problems with the arrangements backstage, such as the stuffed olives not all being stuffed? Not loud enough?

Spoke to someone yesterday who said they'd have a good time but wouldn't go again.

Said they were horrified at all the vulnerable young people who looked to be off their heads and on their own and thought "Where are your friends????!!!!!" "Who is looking after you????!!!!!"

I said that when i see vulnerable young people who look to be off their heads and on their own I usually talk to them and check they're OK. The point of Glastinbury is that everyone can be your friend, and what might be vulnerable somehere else isn't necessarily vulnerable there because people look after each other. Blimey - people couldn't even sunbathe in peace for me making sure they were OK!

It made me sad to think a newbie couldn't see this and made me wonder if it is still there to the extent I think it is.
