Munt.

You may like wallowing in other people's trash during what should be a fantastic festival. You may not care what message is sent out to the world from our festival. You don't litter in the streets? Why not? Do you expect someone else to wipe your arse when you've been for a shit?

p.s. the cost of the cleanup should be a lot less than it is, which would mean more money going to deserving charities.

Seriously, there are more important things to be concerned about. The cost of clearing the rubbish is built into the ticket price. Nobody leaving tents and rubbish thought it would be there for months and could possibly kill a cow (although to be honest, what would it matter? the cows are going to be slaughtered anyway). It's not like leaving litter on the streets, which I don't do.

Whilst I wouldn't wish to attend a festival taking place on an actual rubbish tip, we can all cope just fine with the extent of dirt which Glastonbury exposes us to. It's probably doing us some good after our usually overly-sanitised environment.

If you wanted to visit a pristine example of nature then there are many (relatively) unspoilt places throughout the UK. You could have camped just a few miles from Glastonbury for instance, on your own, in a field surrounded by cows and their particular brand of shit.

The situation at Glasto regarding leaving tents has existed for many years. The festival is well prepared for it and is paid for it via the ticket price. Glastonbury may, in fact, be the single best place on earth to drop litter because it is contained by the fence and guaranteed to be cleaned up in quick-smart time by do-good volunteers (paid volunteers I might add - generosity has no end).

So the whole campaign to "leave no trace" is just for fun is it, and GFL don't care that they have to pay an army of litter pickers money that would instead go to charity if people simply picked up their own shit?

You are brave to express this view as very few would have the guts to do so but this is the attitude that kills me just a little bit every time I come across it, just selfish, blind and staggeringly stupid..

I paid £175 and for that kind of money I deserve to have my stuff cleaned up for me.

FFS, there are a lot of people getting murdered every day and people want to make an issue of some rubbish in a field. (Rubbish which the festival is prepared to clear and has probably cleared by now)

:)

'Leave no trace is not just for fun, no. It is a means by which Glastonbury festival can minimise the cleanup bill and maximise profits. It makes sense for them to act like they are doing some good whilst actually just reducing costs.

You may have noticed, I am a tad cynical of Eavis Enterprises and charity. It's a shame this opinion seems to hurt you somehow but I believe human nature is on my side.

You *even* go to T in the Park????

You talk of it like it's the pinnacle of the festival world.

Just because you're a filthy careless anti-social individual who relies on other people to clear up your own mess, don't spoil it for the rest of us.

...and for 175 pounds you expect your own personal hygiene monkey? Get real.

Considering the number of bands that you see, the entertainment you can get involved in, the cost of the facilities you use, and the cost of camping on private land... consider that alone, and you owe big time.

Have some respect.

I wonder if you would do us all a favour and go to a commercial festival next year, and take dirk4danger with you. Your attitude stinks.

ME makes a good wage £50-60000 I believe, but donates much more to charity. It could be even more without morons like yourself there, although the video does suggest many others sadly possess your same selfish views.

You really should be ashamed of yourself. Grow up.

Hardly crime of the century to leave your camping equipment onsite to be cleaned up by the litter pickers. I can think of worse things thats happened at Glasto. Slight over reaction i think.

Seriously now, do you really consider Worthy Farm to be a 'dairy farm'?!!! You should visit a proper farm. (I grew up on a farm before I get abuse from that angle).

I've not got the numbers at hand but I believe most dairy farms make a loss. Which do you think is Eavis' primary focus, a small loss making dairy farm or a festival turning over tens of millions?

    • Brazil's first half was genuinely dreadful all round, not just the midfield, so they're absolutely not bulletproof. Whether Scotland have the quality to take advantage is a different question.   Tbf, that's as much on Morocco looking good, which I did think was a possibility. They could be a bit annoyed with themselves not to have scored more before Vini's goal tbh.
    • Surely nowadays with so much data analytics available on every division in world football and so much awareness that people aren't suckered in on the basis of a decent World Cup game... right?   Although tbf, from what I saw, Australia's game plan worked very well. But that was as much thanks to Turkey blowing varying opportunities given they created enough chances but couldn't finish, a la what happened with Switzerland against Qatar when they really could and should've won by 3/4 goals.
    • I missed Viagra Boys for a good spot for Gorillaz. Was a nice weekend and festival for me. Would definitely come back, if the line up is right. Get back home safe everyone.
    • The Last Temptation - new Heaven 17 documentary film directed by James Strong. Premiered at Sheffield Docfest this weekend.    I really enjoyed it. Affectionate, insightful, and honest. A nice mix of archival and footage, interviews and clips from the last tour. Martyn and Glenn are like an old married couple.   Plus a snippet of news from the Q&A, Martyn is recording new BEF material, and Phil Oakey has collaborated on the one of tracks. The film shows them meeting in Fagans for the first time in over 35 years.
