I used to love Athlete, back when they released their first album, "Vehicles and Animals". But their follow ups have been lame.... I saw them a while back in the Birmingham Academy, and I thought they were pretty good. Anyone seen them recently, and know what their set is like? Will they play lots of their old stuff or mainly new stuff?

And I have been following this forum for a while, never actually posted anything, so please be nice

I saw them back in 2005 and they were fab! Joel got mega emotional when they were performing "Wires" and had to stop singing, so the whole audience carried on singing for him . . . and he had to walk off stage to compose himself! A great moment for me!

I used to sort of like them (my dad's a massive fan) a few years back and last year they played my local venue (200 ppl) and my Dad persuded me to go wiht him (cool guy) :angry:, anyways they were amazing! Also saw them on their recent tour in Brighton and they were great there too and the new stuff sounds good. Definetly check them out at V

Oh and they played 7 songs off their first album (almost half their set) so if you like the first album you'll enjoy

Ive seen them in the past, It might have been V2005, and they're good at what they do, nothing groundbreaking but nice radio friendly pop indie

I'd watch them again if theres no clashes this year

I dislike them, immensely, but I am going to make sure I won't see them, and therefore I will not moan about them being on the line up. It really is THAT easy! A few fans on here by the looks of things though. Hope you guys enjoy them!

they always do a good show, and the 05 one was quality. i would imagine they would put a good handful of the old songs on there

saw them in norwich on their recent tour. have to say they were pretty good. terrible supports acts but athletes new stuff is pretty impressive. check them out at V
