The Living End

Just to confirm what a few people have said in other topics, by the looks of it The Living End are opening the mainstage which sugests the 2 bands yet to be announced for that day will fit 3rd and 4th up

This is off the official webstie (LINK)

With a heavier, edgier direction to new album, White Noise, Australia’s THE LIVING END will be suitably loud opening to the Main Stage for the day. Over four studio albums, the band amassed platinum sales awards, magazine covers and shelves of awards but critics are agreed that White Noise is their best yet. See for yourself over the weekend

No Way would The View play that low down! Personaly I think the living end thing is a mistake by whoever wrote it, I doubt they will open the main stage only because I can't see any logic in not anouncing the two bands above them.

I agree but It first came to light from a different site at the same time as the announcement (before the band descriptions was up)

seems a very odd thing to do though unless they are waiting on a couple of download bands to fill in the gap and decided to announce Living End beforehand

I had an email from festival republic which had a thing about the new additions to Reading & Leeds and it clearly stated in that Living End were going to open the main stage -

This is what it said -

Additions to the Main Stage at Reading & Leeds

We've got three more additions to the Main Stage in the shape of MARIACHI EL BRONX, the mariachi alter ego of the Los Angeles outfit, successful newcomers THE VIEW and Main Stage openers, Australians THE LIVING END.

Happy the Living End are playing, but opening the main stage?! The were second headliners on the Lock-Up 2 years ago withan hour set!! They opened the main stage in 2001! Bit upset about their placing. Better then not at all though.

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
