A little "usherette" style tray, and a sh!tload of Skittle Vodka for a euro a shot would fill the gap admirably!

I think cheesy 80's pop disco is a great theme...anyone for the Chicken Song and Superman and Agadoo? Tinsel wigs galore! Who's bringing the shuttlecocks?

I love the way an idea tends to snowball on here :( . The curtains could easily be overcome by the addtion of those fly catcher type affairs am sure the pound shop can supply and they are lightweight - some gaffer tape and away we go.

I'd rather go cheesy 80s songs that thought they were being taken seriously. Hence Club Tropicana etc. But it's trivialities relative to the big idea.

As for shuttlecocks, how about the efests Olympics instead of World Cup, 3pm Pyramid Field on the Wednesday?

Oh lord..it begins!

Tbh...I wondered if the Efest Footy may (and may still become) something bigger next year...kinda hopefully snowball into a celeb 5 a Side thing maybe?

Does anyone recall the 5 A Side affairs at the Phoenix Festival? Ok so it was incorporated into the festy with an arena, seating and proper commentary and so on...but could not something be pulled off possibly?

BUT...Efest Olympics??? Eeep! Ace!

Perchance an idea that could get started small scale for 2010 but by 2011 be an event to REALLY pull the crowds in the year before the REAL big event???

The Nimbin Mardi Grass in Oz is a good example for silly Olympics...the Bong Throw and Yell, Fastest Spliff Rolling, Adverse Conditions Rolling, Blindfold Rolling, IronMan...;)

Excellent ;)

Shambala last year apparently had binocular-football where all wear binoculars and indulge in many an inadvertent air-kick. I'm sure they had lots of other silly stuff that I can't recall.

I've personally always wanted to set up an orienteering course round Glasto, for the jaw-dropping of newbies and the reaquaintance of regulars. Finish at Cider Bus of course, & probably have to navigate to 'refreshment' areas on the way. Is orienteering at all scouty? What sports are scouty?

Bloody hell - I say this:

We got invited to join a tunnel party as well at one point when walking through, it would have been a great idea if we weren't striding purposefully through on the way to do something (haven't a clue what it was now...). Definitely tunnel party next year! :D

Bloody hell - I say this:

then am away for a few days and come back on here to all this?? Funny what happens from a minor throwaway comment!!

Hoping this doesn't all actually happen though, as the tunnel is genuinely helpful for avoiding the crowds - with all this sudden madness it's going to be as bad as the railway track!!! :D

And Lucy - careful!! Remember how stressed you were this year from feeling you'd taken on too much? :)

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
