Faith No More - Meshuggah, Manson-Cornell and Dream Theater-Clutch all really really suck for me. While Faith No More is a definite choice, I'll still be pissed about missing Meshuggah, and I have no idea which way I'll choose in the other 2.

Really annoyed, there is probably like 1/4 bands i like there, which i was like "fair enough, still going to be amazing getting to see them, and just have a fun time festival-ing it up" to find out pretty much all those bands will be playing roughly the same time!

Slipknot/Prodigy pissed off with the most...

Limp Bizkit and Killswitch/Dir En Grey, BMTH

You Me At Six/Pendulum

We Are The Ocean/Suicide Silence

Go:Audio/Papa Roach

pretty sucky...

i find it stupid how they have the more modern music that you hear more today is all on at the same times, where as the older generations are also on at the same times (FNM/Motley Crew, im sure some older people are going to be gutted about them at the same time...) mind you, the whole sunday main stage is an oldies dream stage... not my era of music to enjoy... maybe just to say i have seen rather then enjoy?

I shall attempt (and probably fail!!!) not to sound like a grumpy old man here. In general there will always be clashes at a multi stage festival. Probably the more there are the stronger the overall bill is. I think that this year the headliners are fairly strong and I would be happy to see either FNM or Crue on Friday and Slipknot or Prodigy on Saturday.

On the point about new/old bands being scheduled to clash. Like I said clashes will happen but I dont think the line up too bad in putting similar bands against each other - for instance the FNM Motley Crue clash - just because 2 bands are from roughly the same era doesnt mean they have the same fanbase. I'm sure plenty of people will like both but in the late 80's early 90's I wouldnt have necesarrily thought a Crue fan liked FNM or vice versa. Th main stage on the Sunday may well be dominated by oldies but the other 2 stages are certainly not. Thats fair enough in my opininon - if you are going to have a stage where you are sticking to one era or genre of music all day the other stages have to offer an alternative and they do. Lastly people shouldnt really judge what bands a person will listen to based on age. I listened and still do, to loads of bands like Led Zep, The Who, AC/DC, Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple etc who realesed most of their stuff when I wasnt born or was very young. I'm sure there must be youngsters today who listen to FNM. Motley Crue, ZZ Top and Def Leppard. Looking at the bands you list you should give FNM a listen if you havent already you might enjoy them. Equally not everyone over 35 stopped listening to new music after Appetite for Destruction was released. Some did but plenty of older fans will be just as happy to see Slipknot, Pendulum, Opeth, Limp Bixkit etc as Def Leppard or Whitesnake.

I REALLY want to see Volbeat on the Sunday, but the line-up is so damn good (in my opinion) on the Main Stage, that's I'd only consider leaving if they clashed with Black Stone Cherry, who I saw last year. Otherwise, I want to be at the front for Dream Theater onwards.

Providing of course I don't go see Therapy? instead.

with the slit of slipknot and the prodigy i can see there is going to be trouble ahead we people i talk to liking both bands there could well be trouble can they still no0 change the order so there are both on the same stage or at driffrent times[/font]

Was pretty disspointed when I seen the splits first thing this morning as it looked like there were some major clashes.

I know this is only a rough guess and pretty sad but Ive taken the stage times for last year and applied it to this years splits and came up with this for the first 2 stages..

If those times are correct then looks like I could be seeing Volbeat after all, however will have to sprint back to get a decent spot for Dream Theater.

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
