When/will coach tickets sell out?

Me and 2 friends have decided to travel to the festival from Manchester using the SeeTickets coach service this year. Money's quite tight at the moment, so we were just wondering if we'll be okay putting off buying the tickets until we've saved up, or whether they are likely to completely sell out and, if so, when this is likely to happen.

I can only suggest contacting Seetickets and asking them. I would have thought that as the public transport option of last resort, there will always be coach space - if they have sold out on the allocation surely they just lay on more coaches, or offer you an alternative time? But if you're not sure, best to get in touch with See and find out how they operate it.

people have had bad experiences with seetickets coaches, i would reccomend you try national express coaches instead (links are on the glasto site) as i got one last year from manchester and had no problems at all.

i think it cost £49 last year, so may be a few quid more. and don't quote me on this, but i get the impression national express coaches DON'T sellout... they see how many people book tickets from a certain place and then send enough coaches to fit all who have booked on. i didn't get my tickets until about may and it was fine.

Just received a reply from See:

There is no limit on the number of coach tickets on sale as we will book the coaches based on how many people have bought tickets.

Thank you for your e-mail.

Kind Regards

never been on See organised coaches - always just stuck with good ol' national express and never had a problem - on time, clean & no hassle if you're filthy! they seem to have a lot more pick-up points across the country than See are offering too. See were only offering from Brum when we got ours, but with nx booked our return tickets from Wolverhampton for £44 each (been roughly the same price for 9 years now - so either been ripped off in the past or got a bargain now!)

DO NOT get a seetickets coach...we did in 2007 and it put us off going in 2008 we were soooooo traumatised!!! This year I'm using National Express and I keep reading so many good reports...will never use seetickets for coaches again...

Do a search but in a nutshell most of the problems with coaches in 2007 were at the end of the festival. Given how bad the weather was that year, some people were not allowed on due to the muddy state of them or had to sit in their underwear , not every coach turned up, the organisation up at Ped Gate A was less than desirable and people were waiting in line for wrong coaches.

I didn't hear anything bad about the coaches last year which must be a good sign, I think the criticism of the organisation of 07 meant a lot of people bucked up their ideas.

    • I saw that the payment method is contactless wristbands - I understand you collect them at the festival site and can top them up there as well? Yes, there are top up points, keep the recepe if you want to withdraw the money in the end   How much does food and drink usually cost at the festival?
