the only way GnR would cause this much hype is if download has gone for broke and offered the origional linu-up a deal they couldn't turn down but thats more unlikely than it being Nirvana headlining. i personaly think its Foo or system.

There was like a whisper on the wind of some sort of tour involving Guns and Roses

Just looked on the Download forum and they have come up with Alice Cooper as the possible 3rd headliner. With a tour starting in the spring can`t see why not?At least it is someone different to consider or maybe special guest? :P

Dont think it will be faith no more. more than likely they will be take the special guest slot like motley crue and whitsnake

bit off topic but i think its fair now to totally dispel the vague long ago rumours that Bullet For My Valentine were maybe going to headline - today they've been added to Sonisphere, but taken off Hammerfest due 'to recording commitments'. thats gotta be a bit of a kick in the nuts for anyone going to that, and for Metal Hammer, considering it was announced in the same day!!!

So just to clear this up then, we have ac/dc headlining the main, with special guests rammstein and faith no more, against a green day /blink 182 collaboration on the 2nd, with metallica playing 3rd stage under a secret pseudonym... yeah that announcement might just be special enough to justify the hype!!! ^_^:P

Oh, almost forgot GnR who although couldn't get on the bill will be busking outside while selling knock off merch!

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
