Some of you may not want to know who they are,you may like the suspense of waiting for official announcements, but i can tell you 100% confidently from a man in the know that the 2 headliners are..

The killers...

Oasis...

If anyone doubts me,refer back to this link in 1 months time and tell me how correct and reliable i was at the time.

I'll bet you my house it's not...A bloke I know overheard a bloke in a pub who said that a taxi driver who his missus knows said it's Snow Patrol & Franz Ferdinand.

It'll be Blur & a V exclusive (ala Muse last year), I still think either REM or Jay-Z

i wouldnt rule this out completely. obviously its a bit weird him just signing up to say this but theyre not that unlikely headliners. id still imagine blur to be more likely than oasis but it certainly wouldnt shock me if oasis and the killers was correct.

Good tip mickeyjoe!

Wish you were wrong though

As ever, I pick my festival attendance mainly on line up, so if V dont manage to fill the other stages with some quality bands, I guess I will be elsewhere this year. The thought of Liam whining his way through their back catalogue like someone scratching their nails down a blackboard, is too much to deal with.

Verve last year, Oasis this - not a decent album between them in years, cant wait for the Heart or Europe next year!!!!

Really poor effort V, especially for getting the over exposed Killers yet again. :)

Still, thats why we all have a choice, enjoy it if its your taste.

I think it would be very unlikely and poor planning either of these would be headliners this year because they have both headlined in recent years The Killers 07 and Oasis 05.

Although it always great to see Oasis (but painful to listen to Brandon Flowers) i'll be appy to be proven wrong so will keep this post in mind when they are announced.

okay, firstly,i apologise if it looks wierd but for some reason i felt compelled to get on here and let people know. I have used this site for a few years now, along with virtual festivals,to sniff around and see what all the rumours are and have a little giggle at some of the ludicrous suggestions. Fact is,i have a friend who works for a major booking agent in london town and they find out early doors who headlines all the major festivals. Not complete line-ups,not every band on every cheeky little stage all over the site, just headliners. I have known for the last few years well in advance of official announcements who is topping bills, and for the first time i thought i would just whack it on.(I am a v regular since leeds 97 so i am always keen to see who plays). No hidden agendas,no acting the smart arse,in fact no one particular reason. I just know. And now so do you.

For some reason i also now feel the need to come on and justify it. I am not a bad boy,i don't want to interfere in the hardcore community of regular contributors to this forum and i shall stay right off it now until they are announced. With thanks.

Bye for now.

I really want to be happy about this but having already forked out for Wembley Stadium to see Oasis and already bought my tickets based on brilliant headliners in the last 3 years (Foo's, Muse, Radiohead, Morrissey) I can't help but feel a bit of disappointment. Killers on a downward spiral with each album as well. (Don't shoot me that's just my opinion!)

Boooooooo....V festival must try harder. Bring on the JJB and Channel 4 stage announcements....

I am hopeful that the CH4 stage and JJB tent will make up for this! Not that I even got to see many bands last year or anything. Someone said to me recently that V festival was really strange because it's the only festival they have ever been to where there are more people "milling around" than actually watching the bands!!!

Tis true!! I'm one of the "wandering aimlessly" brigade!!

B x

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
