he got to number 4 at one point...

every sport does the same thing.. there's the best in any country, and then there's the best in the world. I really don't understand why Henman (or anyone who never makes it to number 1) is considered a joke and a failure..

it's bonkers

in every tournament (tennis or otherwise), out the 32, or 64 (or however many there is at the beginning), there will only be one outright winner...

I assume he's playing Cillic who's the 14th seed as Nadal was 2nd and Federer 1st meaning they shouldn't be in the same half of the draw, while Djokovic is 3rd which would put him in the same half of the draw as Federer

The real shame should lie on the LTA though. There are few, if any, tennis associations funded anything like as well as them in the world (they are funded on the profits from Wimbledon). And the best British player spent most of his formative years in Spain. It's pathetic.

Can someone explain Tennis seeding to me, it doesn't seem to make any sense. Surely the semis should be (if the top 4 seeds get through); 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3

Smilarly the quarters should be 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7 etc... Why does Murray (no 5) have to play Nadal (no 2) when Roddick (No 7) would only have to play del Potro (no 4) if they had all got through.
