f**king Foo f**king Fighters. Good christ no, the last thing we need is more meat and potatoes dirtying up the pyramid field. Give it at least half a decade before we have to deal with them again

Apropos of nothing really, i'd just like to share that an ex-girlfriend of mine thought that Tame Impala was one fella, perhaps of Turkish/north London origin, who's name was Tamen Parlour. I swear i nearly shat my leg off with laughter as she took me through her thought processes there.
  3. Yes! never enjoyed a 1-4 home defeat before to be honest, and i'm sure there's lots of boringly efficient idiots who think it was dreadful, but i'm really happy we gave it a go. Yeah we got caught on the break and the scoreline looked a bit flattering, but at least we didnt just retreat into our shell. Under Conte and Mourinho we'd have dropped the whole team back and lost 4 or 5-1 anyways, the difference this time was the crazy ten minute spell where Chelsea went 2-1 up and then we looked by far the better team - kept the ball well, created chances, should've equalised a couple of times. That really shouldn't be possible with nine men against a billion quid. We gave it a bash and didnt die wondering, and for that i'm strangely chuffed 😄 if football is supposed to be entertainment instead of metronomic perfection and boredom, then i support the right club for me

Apart from being absolutely bollocks, why is there never a clamour for Drake to headline? Now i come to think of it i dont ever remember seeing him on any festival bills. If he's the biggest streaming artist in the world i'd imagine lots of people want to see him live, so why cant he play the Pyramid?

There could definitely be something to be said for Emily wanting to book artists that she really bloody likes, too. Ok obviously the money and the availability has to also add up, but im sure her own preferences have been involved - she promoted the Kings of Leon in 08, mentioned that she really wanted Guns n Roses, and thankfully seems to hate Barlow and Take That (yes! get in there EE) cos they've never appeared despite being absolutely perfect Radio 2 afternoon pyramid nonsense. So if she really loves Madonna then she's going to put her on, even if she doesnt hit the arbitrary Spotify playlist threshold
  6. The lights worked no matter where you were - i was at West Holts watching Earth wind and fire - to be fair to Chris and the 'playboys the spectacle was improved everywhere, wanging around light up wristbands to September was pretty bloody good!

Yeah, its big and balanced, and has a mix of newish/established/legend, but personally i'd not watch a single second of any of them. Would look forward to seeing everywhere else on the site being quiet during Madonna though, can see that being very Eltonish, and i was a teeny bit jealous of all those at QOTSA cos of how banging that set was and how exclusive it wouldve seemed! Like the cool kids in the kitchen at parties, etc etc
  8. There seems to be a flat spot at the bottom, then a hilly bit, then a middle flat spot before another hilly bit and finally the big flat bit up the top. People went bottom/middle/top in terms of preference it seems, before filling in the hilly bits. Do you have access to any other camping spots? the other side of Muddy Lane seems to be a bit hillier, if anything, before flattening out around gate C - but thatll be mega busy all the time so i wouldnt fancy camping there. There's a couple of workers camping spots outside gate C (including the oxfam field, which is delightfully flat and right next to the car park, its a right winner) but they all look hilly from the brief nose around i've had. Plus you'll have to zap in and out with an EPO. i think your self-righting camping bed with a bit of a camber seems like the best idea, or perhaps elevating the bottom of a camping mat with a rolled up extra sleeping bag - i quite like the logistics of it though, i would so obviously be lying in bed planning the same engineering solutions 😄
  9. This isnt particularly helpful i suppose, but there's flat spots on Tom's field among the hilly bits, and as they're in much demand they get nabbed first. So if you have any chance of getting there earlier, i'd take it! (i got the early doors stewarding shifts and got there on the saturday before a couple of years back, and my shifts were overlooking Tom's field up the top by the vehicle gate - its a lovely view but bloody hell, that hill after a long shift!)
  10. significantly slim pickings, i'd only say Green Day and even then i'd be taken away by someone more appealing on another stage. I prefer smaller stages for headliners, its a more enjoyable experience for me i think. The rest would be very much not my alley at all.

Bleh, i'm sure lots of people will enjoy it, its just that there's absolutely zero chance of that being me under any circumstances whatsoever 😄 ten minutes of him during the Macca set is as much Springsteen as i ever need in all of my life and that was 50% too much
  12. That’s the very one. I liked it, it was amusing and also really good for colour clashes - I think away kits should be a bit strange. I’m not a huge one for buying kits unless they’re absolute bangers and the only spurs shirts in recent years even vaguely worth considering have been the more outlandish aways - the weirdo galaxy/marbled one from a couple of years ago was good, but the majority of Nike kits are bollocks identikit nonsense. I want Under Armour back, those kits were so much better it’s ridiculous, the actual quality of the merch was great. I’m told the Castore stuff is dreadful quality, it’s put me off getting the latest Ireland kit even though I like the design
  13. The best Newcastle kit in recent years was that lovely tropical Solero one that looked like eleven giant ice lollies. Bring it back!
  14. Tony's Chocolonely is also absolutely delicious, tbf. That caramel and sea salt one- woof

Homework is much more funky, acidy and enjoyable than their later, more autotune type nonsenses. It gets a reasonably regular airing at Balti Towers and is quite recommended 👍 an excellent driving album

didnt do their Homework did they?
  17. good f**king christ yes. Seeing them in march, if i get the chance to sidle up to Rob Halford then after i've bowed, i'll ask him if its likely or even vaguely on the cards. I know he made comments in 2014 when Metallica played about really wanting to be asked, so i dont think its beyond the realms of impossibility at all (and British Steel is absolutely 100% stone cold classic, behind only probably painkiller in terms of my fave JP album)

Oh i did, i lasted all of about a song and a half before i *prepares polite voice* decided it probably wasnt for me. Or wrote it off as unmitigated bollocks, one of those two. ( and i now await being called a xenophobe 😄 )

😄 ffs 'You lot don't research sh*t' is a fantastically boneheaded thing to say about a crowd, a country, a big group of people - perhaps they just didnt want to talk to you! I know you're probably just trying to wind people up, but thats really quite sad and reductive.

Imagine the joy of turning up to a secret set, all the rumours and excitement, will it be x! could it be y? and f**king Sheeran walks out with his daft grin and his manky little guitar and foot pedal, about to destroy your ears for an hour 😑
  21. four or five inches of rain predicted for scotland on friday: that'll be, er, nice. You look like you've had enough up there! Just the two inches predicted down here in sussex, and i'm stewarding the Beachy head marathon on saturday which will be a lovely day in mud, rain and sideways wind!
  22. New Mary Wallopers album is excellent, my signed one came in the post yesterday and its spun five times already 😁 seeing them in Brighton next month, its gonna be a belter
  23. Never seen the Pumpkins, but they're very much hit and miss live i'm led to believe - you either get an achingly nonsense two hour set of b-sides and pretentious noodlings, or an absolute bang-on setlist of everything you've always wanted from Siamese dream, Gish and Mellon Collie. I'd like the latter, but would absolutely anticipate the former from our little wrestling enthusiast 😄 (this could genuinely be his emoji, too)

It does look more likely than not, by the looks of things. Itll make some of my group absolutely incandescent with excitement at seeing her, and as for me - i'd be more than happy to work a shift during her set because i havnt got even a slight sliver of interest in her Ray of Light would be the only album of hers i've ever given more than a cursory listen, and its alright i suppose. Would you go and see her? Are we presuming a sunday night Elton-style jamboree?
