Neither will headline Glasto though, which would free them up for R&L.
-
Paramore in place of MGK by the looks of it. If it's true then it's a very strong set of headliners. Although Heskey beast sweaty goals chicken man is a bit of a surprise.
-
Told you the next time Sam Fender played, he'd be headlining MSE. Biggest rock act in the country right now, and for years R&L have been in need of a rock act to bump up.
-
Then prime Frank Turner and BMTH who were on an upwards trajectory before them. A very strong day. Don't think we'll get a day on that level this time around. Probably some shite like Yungblud, and some flavour of the month artists made popular by TikTok.
-
Fair, didn't know that. Could work then.
-
Green Day played two and a half hours last time they played didn't they? And they usually do mammoth three hour sets. How would they work around that given MSE headliners have been reduced to 1 hour 15 minute long sets? The MSW headliner and MSE sub playing in broad daylight?

Mad how KSI has gone from recording himself shouting jokes about Heskey while playing FIFA for the entertainment of 12 years olds and LADbible readers, to being touted as a headliner of one of Europe's premier music festivals.

I thought After Laughter had a very clear Foals/Two Door Cinema Club/The 1975/et al influence. The band had clearly been listening to British Indie that was popular at the time and taking notes.

Robbie Williams has got loads of bangers. Rock DJ, Feel, Supreme, Millennium, the list goes on. Would be a perfect festival booking.

Something something goths something something white men with guitars something something y'all ooft yikes 😤

Supposedly an Arsenal fan. If so, she suffered a lot in her later years!

Always felt the monarchy was an outdated system that taxpayers were spending too much on. However, it does feel weird that she is now dead, and I certainly take no delight in a 96 year old woman dying, just because she represented something I disagree with. May she RIP.
-
Cardi B as headliner would be perhaps the most dogshit booking the festival has ever made.

Dua Lipa/Foals Kendrick Lamar/Paramore The Killers/Doja Cat

We're in the middle of a cost of living crisis and people are starving, and people on here are fretting about there being white male politicians. Never change eFestivals :😂

2008 was pretty chaotic. Lots of explosions going on all throughout the night, all the way into daylight the next morning. I wasn't right in the thick of it, but the fires were visible from where I was in red. I do remember being woken up by some guy trying to open my tent, when I asked who was there he obviously panicked and asked if I had any cigs. I told him no, he kicked one of my tent ropes out, seemingly out of frustration.😂 2002 was the big one, where they had to move sites from Temple Newsam to Bramham. I didn't go, was too young, but know people who did and the scenes sounded like something from Apocalypse Now. Also it was bad the two years prior to that and they were almost going to move the festival after the riots in 2001.

2019 was the perfect balance. There was lots of pop, rap, grime, etc. on the Main Stage in keeping with the current musical trends, but also still a lot for the rock fans. They've since ditched that approach altogether.

Fender will get pushed up to MSW headliner next time he plays. Either next year or 2024.
-
Muse also only got 90 minutes in 2017 IIRC.
-
Yeah, it wasn't even a joking dig. He was being incredibly respectful of them and he clearly meant that no one can compare to them. Perfect example of something being twisted way out of context.

Blur or Pulp would make me willing to come back on a day ticket and try the festival one last time. At least the younger crowd know one or two of their songs. Unfortunately it won't happen, but I can dream.
