MSW headliners are basically sub or co-headline sized anyway.
-
So Sam Fender is active next summer and now headlining major festivals, which gives more credibility to the rumour that he is headlining MSE.
-
Very, very long shot but Pulp would be perfect MSW headliners.
-
When do tickets go on sale? EDIT: Next Friday
-
Imagine if KSI actually is headlining and then it's an hour and fifteen minutes of him just shouting "HESKEY BEAST RAPEFACE FRIED CHICKEN SWEATY GOALS AKINFENWA" down the mic.
-
Rage anyone?

I thought TKOL was praised to the high heavens, like all their albums. I'm a fan of Radiohead but they are definitely the biggest music press darlings going.
-
Sorry but I find the new stuff to be very bland. I respect that they're far from the band that wrote Whatever People Say I Am..., but Humbug and Suck It And See were both brilliant albums that marked a change in their sound. I've tried to like this stuff but it just doesn't excite me. To each their own though. I found AM to be overrated too. They're becoming a bit like Radiohead, where whatever they release will be guaranteed critical adulation, no matter what.

Death Grips? At Glastonbury? When there's no evidence of them doing anything next year?
-
"You think that poor is cool" Indeed more relevant than ever. That song sums up about half of Twitter.
-
It was December last year so expecting sometime around then.

I have always been anti-royalist but I've found these "she was a coloniser!" takes to be disingenuous. Sure the British Empire was still in existence in 1952 and yes she did benefit from it as did anyone in a position of authority in the UK during that period, but by that point it was in the process of decolonisation, in the post-Attlee years. As always happens with these discussions about race and colonialism, fingers are being pointed at the wrong people. My issue with Queen Elizabeth overall was that she did nothing at all as head of state, and made millions in taxpayer's money from it. No disrespect to the woman herself, RIP and all that, she just represented something I have never supported. But that's just my two cents. More to the point, Phoebe Bridgers is incredibly bland, both musically and as a person.

They could definitely still play arenas. The likes of the Manics and James (and Morrissey) have all done arena tours in recent years, and a Pulp reunion would garner more hype than those acts announcing their tours did. Yeah they played it when I saw them in Leeds last year. Really perked things up because the crowd were so flat in the first half of that gig, despite them being tight as always.
-
That is one cracking Pyramid line-up on the Friday. So good it will probably not happen! Also Manics, GNR, QOTSA, The Chats, Bloc Party and The Specials...just take my money!
-
Robbie Williams for the legend slot. Spice Girls for the 3rd down female pop act slot that's become a thing in recent years.
-
The new stuff sounds like Tranquility Base part 2. Which is an album with some interesting ideas, but musically it lacked the excitement of the early stuff which made them so popular to begin with. I get they're not teenagers any more and can't keep writing four chord songs about going on nights out in Sheffield, but their more recent stuff has lost that great energy they once had.
-
I mean, that's a fair point, but he used the level which he himself got himself up to, to start making music.
-
MTS is just a run of the mill industry plant, marketed to people who think that songs about having sex are subversive and cutting edge. KSI, while he might not be to everyone's taste, and while he does have an annoying personality, did work his way up. Started off as some guy making YouTube videos in his parent's home and now he's a massive name.
-
To be fair I think Foals are still more in demand among your average R&L attendee than the likes of Two Door, The Wombats, The Vaccines, The Kooks, et al.
-
And of course that's how the festival has always been, as it was 15 years ago when most of the line-up would be comprised of indie, emo and pop punk. If metal somehow became hugely popular among teenagers you can bet R&L would start booking that kind of act en masse.
-
It took them years to get BMTH back (in an official slot), same with Foals if these recent rumours are to be believed. Two big names who have a long history with the festival. I'm beginning to wonder if the promoters are simply prioritising pop and rap acts over rock as that's what's huge right now, and they've clearly been filling a void left since V became no more.
