  1. Headlining John Peel would be appropriate

There will be other UK gigs - a few fan club warm-up ones have been teased by the band. I can’t see them headlining Glasto though. There’s been quite a lot of moaning regarding the Wembley ticket prices. Imagine the backlash if they announced they were actually going to do Glasto after all, especially from those with tickets for both. Also, whilst we know Damon is a ‘friend of the festival’ etc, it’s quite possible that headlining Wembley is a much bigger deal for them than headlining Glasto again

That’d get him a couple of kick-ass seats for the Taylor Swift tour

Dunno why Blur are being singled out for big concert price beef - it’s nothing compared to what Taylor Swift is charging for her US tour, and she’s doing 50+ stadium gigs. I’d rather not have paid what I did for the tickets, but it’s fairly standard now

These tickets are a lot of money, but unfortunately it's what to be expected these days for a stadium show. It'd be a lot more expensive to be at the front for the Stones and the like. It'll be interesting to see how it sells, compared to Pulp's successful ticket sale. I'll probably succumb though as, bizarrely, my son's a big fan.
  6. Ed Sheeran did it in 2017
  7. There had been a feeling on here a while back that The Scum tended to get their Glasto info right. I think the consensus is now moving away from this viewpoint.
  8. Yes, for the teenage me it was rather eye-opening!!
  9. Shame to hear this. That said, 82 is a good innings considering. I saw him play with Hawkwind at the last Stonehenge Festival in 1984, whilst en route to Glastonbury. 😵‍💫
  10. She’s playing Minneapolis on the Friday & Saturday. There’s no chance she could possibly play Glasto this year.
  11. Rather like your relentlessly moaning posts
  12. So basically, you personally have to like them before they can be deemed a legend. 🙄
  13. Spice Girls very much fall into the category. Hugely iconic, huge sales (best-selling girl group of all time and one of the best-selling British groups since the Beatles), multi award-winning. The fact that I, and many others, can’t stand their music is irrespective
  14. But it isn’t is it? To qualify for the Legends slot you also have to, and this is the tricky part, be a legend. S Club 7 aren’t going to be doing it anytime soon
  15. Could be awkward if, in the increasingly unlikely scenario of The 1975 actually headlining El Pointo, Matty introduces Pater onstage for a rendition of ‘Send The Buggers Back’
  16. Oh do tell us these 50+ acts that have been unconsidered for the legend slot?
  17. Be careful what you wish for…
  18. I saw Roxy a few weeks ago. It was very entertaining. People may have to do a little more homework than for some of other recent Legends, but then how many Dolly songs are genuinely known by many? I can't imagine Kenny Rogers had big cross-generational appeal either, and he seemed to do ok.
  19. If you think Axl Rose's voice is shot, wait until you hear Jon Bon Jovi
  20. Not a chance. The festival isn't just full of Gen Z with no interest in music that isn't current. You underestimate the number of older people that attend, the number that'll be there because it's 'the legend slot', and the people that'll be there anyway because it's the Pyramid, and that's where they plonk their chairs for the weekend. And, hopefully, some of the younger people will want to check out genuine art-rock legends.
  21. Wonder if anyone could notice a difference between her howls of pain and her singing
  22. Quite. Can’t see the likes of Deacon Blue or The Levellers grabbing the prestigious ‘Fourth Headliner’ slot anytime soon
