All Together Now, Ireland July 29th - 31st 2022
BenG92 replied to pothead pixie's topic in overseas festivals
235 Euros for that lineup is appalling 🤣 For 80 Euros you can see Nick Cave, The Killers, Kasabian, Royal Blood and more at inMusic and the included flights to Croatia would still cost less than this -
I would have said so if I didn't expect them at Download '23, I think they'll do one or the other. 2022 marks a decade long Metallica absence from Download and the festival is long overdue an exciting year.
-
I would've said the same about RATM and BMTH too this time last year! Heaviest year since Metallica in 2015, I'm open to L+R actually surprising me again. Shit, now that I mention it, get Metallica back in, why not. Edit: not this time last year, should have said before RATM were announced for the year that got canned
-
People saying that about Paramore are wrong, too, though, and if Muse/Tame Imapala can fill that slot then Gorillaz absolutely can. Hell, they just did Boardmasters last year which really isn't a far cry. L+R Crowd may not know the deep cuts but they'll certainly be up for Feel Good Inc, Client Eastwood, DARE, Dirty Harry and Melancholy Hill and they're great at incorporating other artists like slowthai and slaves into their live shows.

Gorillaz / Queens of the Stone Age Doja Cat / Central Cee Muse / Tame Impala With Muse playing Absolution in full for the 20th anniversary. I reckon that's realistic enough. I wouldn't care for the middle day at all but I reckon it'll look something like that.
-
It's just incredibly soft, it's on par with 2018, especially coming off the back of a year with RATM and BMTH. Would still sell out obviously but it's not gonna excite this forum
-
Seeing each and every one at Primavera but I'd do it again weeks later 🤣
-
Okay, well Reading has consistently sold out between June and August for the past decade until 2021's 6 month early sellout. Do you believe that's because the headliners are 3x as well received as every other year before, or does it have something to do with everyone feeling better about the virus and being desperate for a festival? I just don't think it's a useful metric of overall reception considering the fest will always attracted some sort of crowd. That doesn't factor in the amount of people who hate the lineups year-to-year and don't go which is my whole point.
-
Pretty sure Reading has sold out every year for the last decade simply because it's Reading, whereas Download doesn't sell out now because the maximum venue capacity is so expandable - I wouldn't call that a great measure of a set of 3-6 headliners being well received but we can agree to disagree
-
I don't blame them for doing it, it's just smart business, I was never one to complain about the rap/pop infiltration - I just think "well received" is a nonsensical thing to say about a very subjective topic
-
No Doubt about it.
-
OMEGACRON!
-
Headliners are always going to be "well recieved" by the people who like them, doesn't mean everyone else doesn't think it's crap To a lot of people the overall headliners have been progressively getting worse and worse... perhaps until this year
-
Not a release, but Tool are back on the road and the new setlist is insane and refreshing, won't post here in case people are going to the UK dates and want to keep it a surprise. Hopefully Download get the chance to book them again, 13 year gap was pretty silly
-
Headline 9 are all bolted on for me (minus Jorja Smith) so come what may. Friday it'll be an absolute miracle if I can see Autechre, Brockhampton, Earl, Fontaines, Gizzard, Sims, Low, Warpaint and Parquet Courts without a clash.
-
BFMV have postponed Jan and Feb dates. May onwards is still active including the ring. That's the point, artists are cancelling now because Omnicron cases are out of control, they won't look like that by summer.
-
Nah, they're a Leeds + Reading booking, don't really fit in at DL
-
Would make sense and be great for me personally. I think NiN probably have a few unannounced dates for next year considering they've got 3 random festival dates throughout the year.
-
Yeah Inmusic is amazing too but as the guy above said, RFP has a way better undercard to compliment it
-
Gonna assume he means "for the money". 116 euros for that lineup is insane, I don't even know how they're making a profit.
-
Based on the last two posters there's (roughly) 8 headline sized acts and 25 mid-range, we have our 8 big names on the poster so we're due about 6 more after FNM and The Streets dropping. My guesses would be something along the lines of BMTH, Wolf Alice, Bastille, Slowthai, Little Simz, Idles.
-
SOAD and RATM would probably sell me on Download '23. I would guess that Aerosmith is more likely to fill the fossil slot but could see GNR again.
-
Remember that governments also enjoy money. The countries who don't excessively cancel things like festivals will find their tourism trade massively boosted and those that do the opposite will fall behind. It's in the government's best interest to get this stuff up and running again, they just don't want to be seen as the guinea pigs. I know it's easy to imagine a depressing world where we never go to shows again but it's not a reality, it's just a matter of postponing things enough that tickets still sell.
-
I'll never not find it funny when people think RATM are anything but a band who make music for money Imagine paying 110 + shipping for a ticket only to be shocked that the band wants to sell their catalogue for profit and only play shows when they can sell tickets. The horror
-
Absolutely nothing has been confirmed about RATM at this time. Inforoo forums are having a meltdown about a Coachella lineup that hasn't even dropped yet based on one guy who's been right and wrong about stuff in the past and is saying that RATM's entire tour is being postponed.
