  1. If Thursday isn't too packed, that sounds like a great option. Also nice if you wanna stay until the metro starts running again
  2. is Jai Paul enough of a party though for the closing spot? Agree with the other too but would Peggy Gou instaead of Jai
  3. I would watch any act on this bill - including stella maris - over Tool
  4. Yeah I can totally see that and I know that glasto is different to most fests. But: it is not just a matter of personal entitlement where an artist is placed on a poster. It is quite relevant because a position at a big fest will be used as measurement for positions/fees by other promoters. I have actually seen bands cancelling gigs altogether, because they were promised to be in the headline, but then were pushed down because the fest scored some other band last minute (I think this even happened publicly once with Architects at Jera on Air). I think thats just way harder to plan in detail and the finetuning probably just wasn't ready. It involves external players after all, not just the PS crew and the artists booked.
  5. In terms of how good it was or how many people it drew? Cause the latter is whats supposed to define poster slots. Otherwise it would be super hard to place the Strokes, they could be first or last name on a poster depending on how Julian feels that day
  6. Lizzo being in the line above here was actually a joke though.
  7. At 150 acts, you'll always have some dropouts. Just hope its nothing big or special.
  8. Yeah the idea of bringing the entire Bits area into the main festival grounds was excessive. They will probably cut down on those stages, maybe drop two of them
  9. I agree, but part of that was only possible because of the double editions and because they wanted to promote the Madrid edition. The investors must've put huge sums into that without which, this combination wouldn't have been possible
  10. I mean, we can see it at other fests too, that there is just a bit of a slowdown of the crazy post-pandemic dynamic when every act desperately needed to tour, because they had missed out on 2 years of earnings.
  11. There will certainly be some cancellations and replacements as always, some artists might only be at Ciutat, but stuff like Sampha, Kylie Minogue or The Smile is wishful thinking and won't happen. Maybe we'll even get some "unexpected Primavera" again, but that'll be names that have not been in the circuit at all until now. Some acts might be held back by a first announcment clause elsewhere (Pinkpop, DTRH, BKS) but thats not too likely. Maybe some legacy act has a tour planned that isn't ready to be announced like The Avalanches in 2016 or special gigs are not yet worked out like with Ride 2022. This is the line up, its 98% of whats gonna happen in BCN May 29th til June 2nd. Make peace with that or don't but we really don't need to continue the nonsensical speculations
  12. no, its them https://www.primaverasound.com/en/primavera-sound-2024-barcelona/stella-maris
  13. So earliest next week I guess. Bit weird, but doesn't bother me too much
  14. Model/Actriz are phenomenal, saw the at a super intimate gig and it was really good! Brutus and Voxtrot are also killer. THe Last Diner Party are gonna be the next big thing, sorta the way Wet Leg went. Saw them live two months ago and it was good, but there is still some potential for improvement. Other recs: William Basinski - okay this is something specific, but if you are into ambient, The Disintegration Loops are amongst the best records out there. Must see for me The Armed - beautifully chaotic Noise Pop, very energetic Water from your eyes - Very good Art-Pop Band Wiegedood - If you like Black Metal on the Gaze side, these are your people Mandy, Indiana - Industrial Post Punk, not the most accessible but once you're in its a ride Billy Woods - maybe the best Rap Project out there currently for people who otherwise aren't big on rap El Mato a un policia Motorizado - Nuevas Discos is one of the greatest songs i ever heard at PS, check a live version Yeule - one of my AOTYs. She is what I wish Grimes would've gone for. Sofia Kourtesis - Beautifully melodic House Producer, don't think ive ever been so hyped for an electronic act at PS outside maybe OPN Julie Byrne - Also one of my AOTYs, etherical Singer, Songwriter Project, probably comparable to Weyes Blood in terms of style Eartheater - can't really define her. Intersection of Art-Pop, Folk and Ambient
  15. Thing is YunT probably doesn't get told a list of bands that will be there, but some sort of "we are in final talks with" sorta information. And while Mitski etc. were predictable, nobody could have seen American Football coming w/o insider info, its just too small of an act to be a random guess. In terms of Janes Addiction and Camera Obscura, I can totally see them doing Ciutat shows so I'll wait for that, before I pass judgement. I mean, I told everyone a thousand times to be careful with "leaks" even from a trusted source
  16. Amongst my friends, people are specifically waiting for day splits, because they want to make sure the acts spread evenly before investing in a weekend ticket. Works both ways
  17. Yeah but its not just that. It doesn't even look vintage or smth it just looks like a rush
  18. My guess is that there was a last minute reshuffle in day splits, because of which they couldn't announce the splits like they wanted to and put together this poster w/o the usual fine tuning. Maybe they had planned for Lana del FRidEY and SZAturday but that didn't work out.
  19. Fair point. Hope they put a bit more Adobe skills into the day splits
  20. I can't get over the fact that Beth Gibbons is playing the first Gig in 10 years, Clipse play teir only EU date, William Basinski plays Disintegration Loops, Jai Paul plays what in total is maybe his 10th gig and Duster play their first gig outside the US EVER (to my knowledge) and people don't see depth
  21. Some of the discussions on here like "they tour too much" are - whilst true - very specific to the people on this forum. The average person here has probably seen more concerts per year than 5 casual PS goers combined. And as most people here are from the UK - arguably at least the second best place in terms of countries visited by bands - its also a bit of a privilege to be able to see almost anything at home. This will just not apply to the majority of attendees, for whom the line up will be much fresher than for people here. And then, Lana, Sza, Pulp, The National, PJ Harvey and so on were talked about on here so much, they were a suprise to noone
  22. They probably did and found that Jews in Germany having to hide had a precedent.
