  1. Can’t remember exactly but quite a while - I’d been looking all sort of fancy solutions but this worked well. The giant ice cube was a 2ltr container obviously not full of water so it could expand when frozen. Empty cool bag in freezer for a day or so before hand. Popped out massive ice cube added items- the big ice cube limited capacity a bit. Topped up gaps with bag of ice before I set off. So stuff does end up swimming about in very cold water. The decathlon cool bag has a padded inner lid you can wedge down as you use items. Limited how many time I opened it during the festival. But scrunched up space blanket inside once there was more space & kept it in the tent under another space blanket with cool bag on the grass. My intention was to buy more ice if needed, but didn’t bother.
  2. Used one of these last year https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/camping-flexible-cooler-25-l-preserves-cold-for-15-hours/_/R-p-310479?mc=8572257&c=frozen green with the waterproof liner - froze water in a large Tupperware box to make a giant ice cube and stuffed some scrunched up space blankets inside plus one over the top. Worked really well. Also great for return journey as just empty out the water and squish down and it’s very light. Which is a bonus for the post Glasto return journey!
  3. But Pulp are pop - I’m selfishly hoping for not a Sunday Sub on Pyramid as that’s usually one of my volunteering shifts (though could all change in 2024)
  4. Just announced a date in Oslo for August - so surely what stage & when!
  5. Also at Cardiff, what a fantastic gig. Great sized venue too. Though I’ve knackered my calf muscle trying to pogo (lesson to self ~ with age comes self care & maybe the need to limber up beforehand!)
  6. Likewise (had to drop daughter off with OH) but probably first time I’ve missed them in years. My highlight ~ as night was falling watching my nearly 8 year old freestyle dancing under the Arcadia spider (who she’s more than a little in love with) just absorbed in her own world (ear defendered up with swirly wing cape), with her own dance moves. Thinking how is she going to top this at 16? Where as we just had a soggy Joe Bananas blanket stall to dance about (I mean it was brilliant at the time, but!)
  7. Oh that’s a shame - apologies for the rubbish suggestion @balti-pie!
  8. Ha - post/Glasto fatigue strikes again. I meant Street!!
  9. There’s a nice YHA in Shepton mallet with camping pods which might be worth a look
  10. Relying on a friend to bring a sleeping bag, which they forgot in 2000. Still reminding them 23 yrs later…
  11. Think it was 2008 had some personal stuff going on and friends suggested we go to the festival as kind of discounted it that year. Bought tickets about 2-3 weeks before the festival. When you used to have to buy physical tickets had family buy & post from more remote parts of the UK when the local allocations had sold out. I’m a similar age & over the years had a mix of bought/working & volunteering tickets…
  12. I’m after 2 standing tickets for Pulp in Cardiff on Weds 12 July - anyone have suggestions on the best way of looking for some and how the transfer etc works on Twickets for example (never done it before) plus on Ticketmaster it says you need your original payment card to get them…
  13. Random snatches of mashed up convo - “his bollock was hanging out the net of his shorts, strangled & roaming free.. (other person) that’s not the stone circle vibe is it” Whilst someone else walking the other way was “yeah I kind of really like baba ganosh”
  14. One of my CBeebies spots - well voice at least Rufus Hound the voice of Waffle the Wonder Dog
  15. I think I spotted @Crazyfool01 this morning interspersed with the throng of people leaving site, just after Woodsies/the road crossing heading for Gate A with a bike trailer. Probably 10am-ish as I was heading to find breakfast pre my final shift. But never a good time to interrupt on the Mon AM trudge home…
  16. Have Tears for Fears ever played Glasto? Given they where local (not now obvs), saw them at Longleat last year - not a headliner but a Sunday slot…
  17. He was there - in the red landy with Emily opening the gates (witnessed with my own eyes!)
  18. 07:40 this morning with the big man himself in the red landy waiting for the gates to open…
  19. Hear, hear - sweep stake on the final page count for the 2023 thread? When does the 2024 one officially start?
  20. As long as it’s not the Plains or the quarries all good! Have a great festival, just about to hit the road…
  21. Doing the school run (walk) this morning before heading to site - going to be getting a good soaking!
  22. Yikes the thunder has just woken me up (Frome)
  23. There’s a lock up just inside gate A - put half your stuff in there, just take tent & a few bits and come back for the other stuff once you’ve set up/later…
