  1. I'd say different: 11-13 July, like in 2019. And yes, Sarah is 200% right, book close to San Mames.
  2. At least stay for Ezra Collective! Friday and especially Saturday are going to be busy indeed. Clashes too... Caroline vs QOTSA, Sylvan Esso vs Rina, Girl in Red vs Young Fathers etc. Wednesday used to be the strongest day at Open'er, this year it's by no means weak, but I think it lacks one strong name in the white tent. Thursday isn't actually weak imo, it's just MGK is sh*tty and Major Lazer are a few years past their prime. And the blue tent isn't actually that interesting either. Nevertheless, Metro Boomin is a huge booking for this stage, I really thought they're gonna move him to the main stage. Anyway, I'm going to see SZA, Los Bitchos, Touche Amore and Ezra Collective on Thursday, that makes me quite happy to chill out with a beer in the meantime. PS. Is Brodka any good? I've heard good stuff about her and we like to check out Polish music, but 1 am might be a bit late for exploration...
  3. As expected, mostly filler, though Jacob Collier is quite cool. Now give us the timetable!
  4. St. Vincent into Le Tigre into Darkside were my best time at PS Porto 2023!
  5. Isn't it a bit too optimistic? We're nearly at 40 international acts (excluding DJs) and I thought it's max what Open'er does. Hoping for sth for Thursday too, but they could just move Metro Boomin to the main stage. It'd be better than having MGK close it, even though I'm gonna spend most of that day in the white tent anyway. Also announcing someone big now wouldn't sell too many tickets, eh? Hotels and flights were already expensive in late winter/early spring when we booked stuff, it surely got worse.
  6. Damn, that was WET! I'm glad I've packed an extra pair of shoes at the last moment. Musically: very satisfied. Also very tired, I wonder if it's because of the elements or maybe I'm just getting old 😄
  7. While I agree Thursday looks a bit weak, it's got Los Bitchos and they're great! I'd like to see Ezra Collective and Touché Amoré as well. I guess something's gonna clash with SZA though.
  8. Timetable is fine, no dramatic choices for me this year 🙂
  9. Lil Yachty's last album was cool. Never listened to Anne-Marie, I also hope she's the afternoon act. The idea of MGK closing the stage sounds dull. edit: oh heck, there's quality in these dance stage acts!
  10. There are revised dates on his insta with 6 EU dates still on.
  11. Where have you read it? His instagram post says only about moving some EU dates (mostly from May, I think) to August and Primavera seems to be still on.
  12. Getting BOTH Labrinth & SZA as festival exclusives is impressive.
  13. Near the San Mames stadium. The end stop of the shuttle buses is close to the stadium.
  14. Never camped, so I won't be of much help, but from what I've heard the camping is pretty basic, but very close to the festival and there's a beach not far away if the weather's fine (not a given at Open'er for sure...) We usually stay at a hotel in Sopot or Gdansk, cause there are trains going there during the Open'er nights and they're both nice places to hang out during the day. In the afternoon: a train to Gdynia and then a shuttle bus to the festival. It's very easy, it just takes a while. I assume hotels are expensive now though, prices went up by a lot in Poland... And it's actually really late when it comes to booking hotels for a festival weekend (like everywhere...) I don't know about the trains, we always fly directly to Gdansk. Warsaw should be okay if you don't arrive there too late, but Krakow is far. Locals should be able to tell you more.
  15. Did you check if you have the ticket on your Ticketmaster account? A stupid question maybe, but once I got no confirmation whatsoever, but the ticket (to a regular gig, not Rock Werchter) was there...
  16. SZA is an awesome booking. Very happy with Ezra Collective too. We've finally booked accommodation in Gdansk (flights booked some time ago) and gosh, prices went up in Poland by a lot. I know it's quite late, but last time we booked a place as late as early May and it surely was cheaper. It's still quite cheap overall though.
  17. They literally say on their website that they expect the festival to sell out.
  18. Well, last year there were 4 artists on the main stage every day expect the Nick Cave's day which had 3...
  19. This new batch of acts is superb. Diversity and quality.
  20. Btw, is their any indication that Andalucia Big, another festival by MC's promoter, is happening at all this year? Their website hasn't been updated, their social media are silent.
  21. There's already a summary of today's announcements on their website so I guess that's it. Caroline Polachek, Rina and Young Fathers are all great additions. My gf loves Paolo Nutini. Gotta discuss it with the rest of our usual group, but we're in.
  22. Yeah, but that approach has its limits. When they end up with sth like BBK Live north and BBK Live south, what's the point for the customer to do both? Especially if one takes routing into consideration. There's a limited amount of artists available BOTH in early July and late August. Phoenix, mentioned above, is a good example - they won't play Cala Mijas, cause they're gonna be in the States then. The promoter obviously does a huge amount of double bookings for their new festivals, but Cala Mijas and Kalorama: a) take place during the same weekend, b) in different domestic markets c) with different environment for international visitors, one having the summer/sun/beach vibe and the other being the city festival. Anyway, the future will tell who's right and actually they're a bit overdue with the second wave of announcements.
  23. And the city is really worth it!
