  1. Returning for 2023 despite zero demand and data, the Pilton rainfall chart. Voila:
  2. At the risk of making a thread that's 'all about me', I thought I'd start one for all those poor souls who, for whatever reason, aren't making the annual pilgrimage to Pilton this year. I am one. Pray for me. I've mentioned probably over 9000 times that this is because we've had a second baby - a beautiful little girl who looks just like her bigger sister. While I'm very excited by the prospect of taking them to festivals in the future, I think seven weeks old is a little too soon. To be honest my wife and I personally feel we wouldn't take the girls to Glastonbury until they're significantly older - probably around 8 and 10. This is partly because it's an enormous and potentially overwhelming place, but mainly because if we're spending the amount you have t spend to attend then we want to maximise our own fun. For the time being, Glastonbury is for us. We have taken #1 to Beautiful Days and will definitely take the girls to toher smaller festivals without late night elements, but there's no way I'm giving up half my festival (the midnight to 6am slot) to childcare, yet. Even when they do come grandparents will be in tow and recruited for at least a night! (they attend anyway). Initially I decided the best way to deal with missing out was to ignore the festival, but as it's got closer that's got increasingly difficult to do. My social channels are full of it and it's hitting mainstream media. So I've decided to engage - not so much in the main Glastonbury forum and chats over on Disco Rd, but by answering questions wherever I can. It's made me feel like I'm doing something useful and like I'm engaging with one of my favourite things, without hyping myself too much about all the things I'm going to miss. So the point of this thread is to ask anyone else who's not attending, how are you coping? Will you watch on Tv or switch off? Read messages from friends who are there or leave Whatsapp groups so you don't see the pics and videos?
  3. Go in through Gate C and then you'll find the nearest ones at the bottom of the Kidzfield
  4. Turns out the rest of the world is as stupid as we are.
  5. Affirmative ghost rider. I got cash out in 2019 and 2022 and didn’t see another soul anywhere near the ATM. Been the same story at other fests too.
  6. Thanks - I was basing my estimate on 2019 costs so not surprised it's way more now.
  7. That is a great workaround, and i bet the walk through the site with no tent etc weighing you down was lovely!
  8. There's anecdotal evidence elsewhere of people who say they travelled to WV with friends who were staying there, and then were able to get their wristbands at the entrance to WV and then go through WV to Pennard Hill / King's Gate to enter the site. If that's true then presumably the same is possible at Sticklinch.
  9. We worked in hospitality in 2019 and had hospitality tickets to do so, rather than crew passes. We received the tickets about three days before the festival. They were in someone else's name as we were late recruits to the business. We ended up in the slightly bizarre situation of having to radio hospitality from Ped Gate B to confirm our story and then were sent in un-wristbanded, to collect hospitality wristbands from the interstage area.
  10. I think you'd be fine. Last year they advertised 4pm opening because of the train strikes and in practice some people were let in to the car parks around midday. The reality is they can't leave cars sat on the road waiting to get in so if you turn up you'll likely be admitted.
  11. I reckon arriving any time after 10am Wednesday will see you avoid the worst of the queues - an hour at worst.
  12. I was on Thursday. 95% of vans were already there. I had to work on the Wednesday 😪
  13. This is what I was going to say. Last time there was a 'proper' show with the Lords of Lightning, choreographed flying artists etc was 2017.

    Flag pole

I bought one form this website last year and it's great. Reasonably priced. When it was delivered I realized their outlet is less than a mile from my house and I could have saved myself £.99 delivery 😬 https://lifebreeze.co.uk/pages/telescopic-flag-pole
  15. I'd say the Kidzfield is your best bet. May be the youngest child they've ever facepainted...!
  16. No advice sorry, just wanted to say good luck resolving it!
  17. I appreciate this isn't an answer to the question you asked but I offer it anyway, under the impression all information could be useful in a small way. I arrived in our van to CV East at around 11am Thursday in 2022 and had no traffic on Blue Route. I was in a small queue at the point where you exchange your paper ticket for the sticker, which took around 15 minutes. This was exacerbated by the fact staff had run out of stickers and had to send for more, which involved convoluting accounting, presumably to ensure none were being simply dished out and the number of paper tickets handed in corresponded to the number of stickers handed out.
  18. As others have said, yes. My brother-in-law has done this before when he was working on site. He set up two tents in Pennards for my sister at 8am on Wednesday. Obviously that was massively helpful. apart from the fact that for some unknow reason he decided to do it smack in the middle of the field, making it difficult to get in and out to. Ideally anyone setting up a tent for you would do so about 10-20 feet from the pathways, meaning you're easily able to access it without the risk of passers by falling on it.
  19. Was just reading this reply and thinking, “this sounds like me”. Then realised you’d quoted a year old post! 😂
  20. If I remember correctly last year the festival allowed some people to arrange for international tickets to be put on the gate where they planned to arrive. Wouldn’t hurt to email and ask if they’d put your tickets on gate C?
