Michael Kiwanuka, Jon Hopkins, Little Simz and Beach House would be ideal. Far out: Low, Parquet Courts, Bikini Kill. I think Ty Segall, Alex G, Viagra Boys, and Sudan Archives will be amongst the returners from the 2020 line up.

They would be a perfect fit and are around at the right time so you would think so! They are also back in America before EOTR.

First Aid Kit are in America during GM weekend so that’s one potential headliner ruled out.

Fontaines DC, Parquet Courts and Porridge Radio added to Oya Festival, which takes place 9-13 August. Would bet good money on Parquet Courts being at GM 22

Yes exactly. But I swear he was on the Paredes line up for 2022 at one point? If so, this suggest he’s not at GM this year.

Has Mac D been pulled from European festivals? I thought he was on some of the line ups for European festivals in August? Can’t see him now. Other possibilities: Beach House, Sleaford Mods, IDLES, First Aid Kit, Super Furry Animals, Jon Hopkins, Little Simz. All of the above (baring SFA) are active at European festivals in August. Nick Cave is also very active but seems too big and also playing APE so very unlikely. EDIT: I guess you could also consider Fleet Foxes, King Gizzard and Father John Misty as well but seems too soon for either one of them to return.

Gosh - respect! They’ve changed the route slightly this year so although you have the same elevation gain, some of the more sketchy ridges have been removed on the 50k. You don’t have the horrific direct ascent up Pen Y Ole Wen for example. I think in earlier iterations of the race you also had to do Crib Goch! Should be a lot of fun in any event!

Thanks! Yes I’ve heard it’s pretty tough! 10,100 ft / 3,100 metres of elevation gain in 50k! It includes essentially two summits of Snowdon (one via most of the Rangers path and the other via the Pyg track). There’s a 100k and 100 mile version which look totally crazy.

Thanks for the tips on the IT band issues above guys! Thanks - I think my post on this wasn’t recovered after the site went down! I finished! Finished 82nd out 350 odd people who entered. Took 12 hours 15 minutes. Throughly enjoyed it! However, I have been struggling with some knee and IT Band issues following the run. I think this is largely due to body mechanics as I am so unbelievably tight in my hip/hamstrings/glutes and I think I am now paying the price. Have been stretching and strengthening those areas with the help of a physio over the last few weeks and seem to be making some progress. Should hopefully be back to normal in Feb and able to start training for the Ultra Trail Snowdonia 50k, which is in July.

Should start to hear some rumblings in the first two weeks of Jan.

Anyone struggled with IT Band syndrome and have any tips with overcoming it? I’ve entered the Ultra Trail Snowdonia (50k version) in July next year. Looking forward to getting back to some proper running in the new year!

Last long run done today. My 50 mile ultra is in 13 days. Been very excited for the taper for a while!
