  1. Anyone who went to MGK this week remember what time each set was and how long he played? I’ll see if he says anything about R&L in Leeds on Thursday
  2. Now that I think about it, people have actually answered KSI in that ‘who do you want to headline survey’ haven’t they
  3. It sets a precedent for a very cheap, very divisive act every year who’s punching above their weight being a headliner. Imagine the scenes on here when they shut the FR stage at 6pm that night
  4. He probably will do it at some point, though he was only playing academies in May so it’s bit of a leap to headline but he’s the perfect festival act and he’d be cheap. It’s becoming more obvious by the year that I’m not a school leaver anymore 🤣
  5. I just find it wild he’s grown this big an audience beyond Twitter virgins with footballers for avi’s. Inb4 someone posts any simpsons memes e.g. I used to be with it, old man yells at cloud etc etc…
  6. I’m underestimating his popularity and overestimating the music taste of today’s R&L demographic. Mental booking if true.
  7. They’ll have got that line from somewhere you’d think, I know they’re experimenting with their own sound to move away from ‘traditional rock’ but they won’t have been the only ones thinking it
  8. If they were billing this year as the ‘return to rock’ then there’s no chance of more than one rock/emo band. It’ll most likely be: Indie x2 / rock / pop / rap / rnb
  9. There’s not many acts I’d want to see as much as Idles, if they got them, MCR, Architects, Broco and Limo Bizkit in one weekend it’d be unreal.
  10. It’s all people who liked a couple of songs back in the day. Can you imagine knowing their entire back catalogue. Them playing R&L would be as shite as when Big Shaq turned up, won’t happen.
  11. Did anyone see D Block Europe this year, how did they go down? Noticed loads of people who got their photos on the screens wanted to see them but by all accounts they were shite
  12. Not sure what the wildest thing about this is - Billie Eilish doing MSW or Suede being on there
  13. Still shows YB isn’t a standout, must-see act, if he was that in demand standing would’ve at least sold out in the smaller arenas like Cardiff by now. Fair play to him though, it’s a big tour.
  14. Really can’t see Yungblud being at that level yet. First arena tour coming up which isn’t selling particularly well and he’s far from everyone’s cup of tea. Dua Lipa | Doja Cat MCR | Machine Gun Kelly Green Day | Kasabian
  15. I’m sure BMTH finished 10 minutes early and AM started 10 minutes late at Leeds this year so there’s another 20 minutes easy
  16. So he’s got one Gallagher on board then. Oasis reunion confirmed
  17. You know for a fact they’d be fuming if the shoe was on the other foot and they got caught. Never noticed before this year the second line of stewards beyond the arena gates looking out of people who think they’ve got away with it. Sneaky
  18. I walked in with it literally in my hand on Friday, it was in a water bottle but they didn’t bat an eye 🤣
  19. They do need to address it, but they won’t. They don’t need to share it on social media but just a statement on the news page of the website would be a start: ‘we’re aware of a number of issues at R&L this year and planning is already underway to ensure a better safer, and more comfortable R&L returns in 2023. If you would like to report anything to us, email…’
  20. What can they do in the campsites besides boost security? Only thing that will stop it is having police patrol the campsites but it’d cost a fortune for an event the size of R&L, it costs about £25k per match at Elland Road and they’re not usually as messy
  21. They didn’t even have a dog on the main gate on Friday, just one on Sunday. Not complaining but equally having a greater security presence rather volunteer campsite wardens in hi vis vests would have stopped some of the chaos if only a little bit
  22. It’ll keep happening too and all parties are fine with it. FR, the local councils, the two festival sites all know it’ll happen and all are happy to it to happen year after year. It’ll never change It’s the dead simple things - put your tent up properly, don’t camp next to a main walkway/the big hill/relentless/the rides. You’re asking for your tent to be trampled if you do that
  23. I find it absolutely mental that people are willing to spend £100s on equipment just to leave it behind and buy it all again the next year, especially the big tents. I bought my tent for £25 in Argos in 2014 and still take it now
  24. It was an odd year for security, I didn’t get searched at all on the two occasions I entered the main Leeds fest gates, or any of the times I went into the arena, not even a pat down. Also didn’t see a single copper all weekend. This is a poor comparison but the irony is there’ll be a huge police presence at the football tonight when there’ll probably be next to no disorder, it’s just all about how the media wants to report on it. If the BBC, NME etc wanted to they could absolutely rinse FR for everything this year. Instead, the BBC prioritised their review of AM above the story of the 16 year old lad overdosing in their newsfeed.
  25. Not sure what time Monday this drone footage actually taken but it’s as bad as I’ve ever seen it. Nothing they can do though stop you leaning your tent either
