  1. Don’t understand Lewis Capaldi as a booking, an absolute drip of an act. Can you imagine watching someone like Wet Leg, then Capaldi, then be upbeat for The Killers after?
  2. It shows how poor it is that it’s not obvious who the third MSE headliner is, shocking
  3. I’d take Gerry Cinnamon and Ed Sheeran at this point tbh
  4. They do, I’ve never got them. Seen them live and still didn’t get it. Same with Fender so that’ll be a great Saturday for me.
  5. Foals confirmed on their website. Friday: Reading, Saturday: Leeds.
  6. Obviously remains to be seen what the likes of Y Not, Truck, Tramlines etc do but they could capitalise on bigger festivals that are grappling with the problems you mention. Punters wont have as much to spend this year anyway never mind if the lineup isn’t up to much. Close to £300 for the rumoured headliners isn’t good value for me in the current climate at all.
  7. I wouldn’t mind if they weren’t putting ticket prices up as well. There must be people at FR HQ that know they’re scraping the bottom of the barrel with this one. They shouldn’t push for six headliners if they can’t book six acts worthy of the slot.
  8. Me too, just noticed Imagine Dragons are in Paris the Tuesday and Wednesday of R&L week, it’s happening isn’t it…
  9. Can’t really argue the popularity of five of them, but they’d be so out of touch booking Imagine Dragons, especially on Billie’s day. They were shite when they were actually relatively popular
  10. Really does feel naff this year as mentioned. No fanfare around the announcement, barely a peep from the R&L socials and one of the six (at the very least) headlienrs won’t be a surprise in Billie Eilish with Sziget/EP getting the jump on R&L It would’ve been something if they’d announced first and said Billie, Fender, Paramore or whoever it’s going to be and made a real statement of intent with it. We might’ve actually been excited then. It seems like, at long last, we’ve come to accept that the lineup is going to be a sack of shit. We’re certainly acting like it!
  11. Some belter on Reddit suggested not only they should be back in 2023, but that they should sub
  12. Maybe I was too pissed to notice the dickheads this year, I know there were riots but we didn’t see anything myself. There was a real lack of acts I was interested in though, found myself going to the bar and sitting about an awful lot.
  13. That whopper wouldn’t play at all for some stupid reason like Liam headlining before him
  14. Think the 0.5 was one was agreed but just hadn’t signed on the dotted line.
  15. Completely agree, I like Billie Eilish and The Killers but I’m not buzzing for them. Spent a lot of time at the bar this year and stayed in camp till later in the afternoon. Weren’t too many divs near us though for a change which was great
  16. A few shouts of Billie, Killers, Paramore, Fender on the first page, and this thread started in September 2021 😳
  17. Is this your first rodeo? Dan hasn’t even entered the chat yet
  18. Who’s going to be the headliner to come out of nowhere, like Halsey last year. There’s always one.
  19. Never seen anything quite like KOL at R&L, for one they referred to Leeds as Reading in 2018!
  20. No way, I’d book them every year if I were Melv. In fact, rename it KOL Fest and have them play all day every day, don’t book any other bands even, just wall-to-wall KOL. It’s what the people want.
  21. Anyone thrown KOL into the mix yet? They’d be class, always have put on a flawless, thoroughly entertaining headline set at R&L 🤞🤟🎸
  22. Subs have been quietly getting weaker and weaker for years, you’d have to go back to Royal Blood in 2019, or maybe LG in 2017, to get a decent sized sub. Agree the above is poor though, only YB and that’s done a proper arena tour.
