  1. With this I wouldn’t even say they’re a safe booking, just an easy, uninspiring solution. Got a feeling FR will go for someone equally uninspiring and divisive but completely leftfield
  2. That was a B side from the first album as well. Shame they’ve fizzled out like a lot of bands do that initially burst onto the scene. They’re a solid sub at best and I say that as a fan. I’ll always talk them up and dislike The 1975 but I’d agree with that, they’re not headliner material in the old format or the new one.
  3. The current R&L crowd aren’t the target market but they are good at what they do. Can’t see them doing it as they’re not universally popular
  4. Always enjoyed watching them so they’d be a very welcome addition for me. The smaller venue tour they’re doing for the album could open up the possibility. Also never understood the sh*t they get from rock fans.
  5. Obviously depends who else is available but they might be hesitant to book Royal Blood after their paddy at Big Weekend with the same audience demographic. Any of the three would suit me mind you
  6. Has this been deleted now? Can’t find it myself
  7. It took me a while to come round to Gerry Cinnamon. A scouse Wish version sums up where this festival is going
  8. I’m all for a 30 minute rendition of f**k the tories but does he actually play music as well? Not seen one video of him playing
  9. We’re through the looking glass here
  10. Oh yeah don’t get me wrong, it’d be incredibly dull but they’ll be scraping the bottom of the barrel now. Don’t know what genre appeals to most in this shitshow
  11. At this point I’m struggling to see how even Don Broco made it on there, never mind someone like Slipknot, Mayday Parade or Idles in the lower spot I know they get some stick but they can’t miss with dark fruits bands here to turn it into an easy crowdpleasing indie day: The Killers / Courteeners / Nothing But Thieves / The Wombats / Inhaler / Jamie Webster
  12. They’re definitely pushing the indie crowd to Y Not and Truck, the quality of indie acts is better than R&L never mind the quality. At nearly £200 cheaper as well I’m surprised neither have sold out.
  13. Totally forgot about Foals and Fender with neither being my bag. Further down and it’s weak. I look back on 2019 and that was ace with the genre defined days, that Foos day was outstanding. Geared towards day tickets though so I can see why they’ve mixed it up. Just leaves so many gaps now where there’s nothing I want to see.
  14. It’s too far gone this year to bring back the rock (and maybe even the indie) crowd. It’s a pop/rap festival with a smattering of uninspiring indie to break it up
  15. Alt-J would somehow be worse than Imagine Dragons. They were both garbage in 2016 never mind now. Blossoms and Fred Again both out. I have optimism that there’s a fair few indie bands of that size knocking about this summer to fill the gap. I’d actually be happy with any of the generic Two Door, Royal Blood, Wombats, Kasabian etc
  16. Don’t put that possibility in my head, no matter how unlikely! They’re in Europe that week and are free 👀
  17. Is he active? Not seen much of him since those Hampden gigs a year or two ago
  18. They went down well at Parklife this year by all accounts, can’t wait for the arena tour in November with Soft Play/Slaves back on the scene to boot
  19. Both would definitely be weak, Courteeners seem to live off a big Manchester gig every other year these days. You’d be looking at Kasabian or Pulp for a headliner size I think. Dreaming here but The Prodigy would be outstanding.
  20. Looking at active British acts I’d guess either Royal Blood or Courteeners, both tried and tested MSE subs in the old format no matter how uninspired they may be. Would fit well with The Killers too
  21. I remember the 2019 Kaisers ER gig was in conjunction with the LUFC centenary but there was barely anything special for it on the day, bit odd looking back
  22. The three main headliners look strong but I forgot how weak the undercard looks. Been said before but Steve Lacy (again, who?) Loyle Carner and Central Cee is a shocker. Hoping to bag a cheap weekend ticket the week before, no way I’d pay anywhere close to full whack for this
  23. In 2021 at Leeds the food stalls gave up and started taking cash because the queues were so long waiting for the card machines to work. Honestly can’t remember if it worked better last year. Rural Yorkshire for you
  24. My guess would be great they’d run it through the app and tell people to bring earphones but the signal at Leeds can’t run contactless payments never mind that
  25. They’ve had The Wombats on speed dial to replace Slowthai, guaranteed
