Even new attendees with a bit of sense would see how much of a loss it is, all that competition lost for the sake of three weak headliners. R&L must be the only UK festival that doesn’t have a decent sized second stage that competes with its main stage.

Even if you ignore the genre changes over the years the logo slots this year are dire: Central Cee and Steve Lacy subbing, Knucks, Lil TJay, Trippie Redd, Chase Atlantic. That said, subs have been weak for years, totally forgot Blossoms and ADTR subbed in 2019! They must be loving it, managed cut the lineup by 30% and get little to no stick because people are dazzled by three more acts in headline slots. There’s no going back, in a couple of years only a fraction of the core audience will have even attended when it was a one main stage festival so they’d see it as a massive downgrade.

It’s like they’ve lost their ability to book up and coming acts from various genres in the new format, or they just can’t be arsed. Main stage bookings now are either headliners, chart stuff, safe indie bands or flavour of the month Tik Tok which, when there aren’t many slots to go round, is a poor offering. Don Broco should be subbing the R1 stage not playing 3pm MSW.

There was nothing better than a headline or secret set in the R1, always got proper atmosphere. At the very least it was a decent place to shelter from the rain. Standouts for me have been BMTH, 21 Pilots, Courteeners, The Wombats, Two Door.

I’m waiting until ticketmaster resale opens or ticket transfer is enabled, saw a Leeds weekend one at £212 on twickets yesterday but considering I got my weekend ticket at £215 last year in late July I’m hanging on yet

Got a tweet from Ticketmaster saying FR haven’t turned on official ticket resale yet, sounds like they’re squeezing as many original sales out of this lineup as they can

Some of the best sets I’ve seen were in the old R1 or FR tents when they were overflowing. Sadly those days are long gone.

The FR Stage is so weak these days. Admittedly I don’t follow up and coming indie or rock as much as I used to but I’m they’re just not putting the money into it for obvious reasons. I’ve seen some greats acts the last couple of years play to quarter full tents to the point where I’ve felt sorry for the band i.e Dinorsaur Pile-Up. Even Courting last year, much hyped set, half empty tent. Theres definitely massive gaps now where I’m sat about, unless there’s secret sets I’ll have about three hours of nowt on the Billie and Killers days.

Not a late night point but I’ve walked past so many empty stages the last couple of years at all times of the day, even with fewer of them. The weakness of the stages at this point is ridiculous.

Fairly sure the late night alt stage stuff starts during or as the main headliner finishes, only the silent disco is headphones.

Wouldn’t watch these if they were playing in my back garden, crowd size would abysmal

They’ve done the rounds more than enough now in their current form to headline again, would be a very sensible booking

Bold bold choice to book a headliner to play an album in full, especially when they’re not universally popular and only played last year. Probably what they had planned for this year all along though before The 1975 were drafted in last year, just shows FR have sunk so far that they’ll book anyone if it gets them out of a hole. At least Sleep Token are on the FR Stage.

This is worse than when they bumped Post Malone from 5th down to headline in 2018 - 2019

There is no way he actually sounds like that. Shame no one filmed it for when it does get taken down!
