Offspring are also playing at Graspop, honestly can see them returning next year. Perfect size for the friday rock slot

The Offspring were loved within my group of friends through school and college, so i'm hoping so!

Noticed they played in 1995 (25th Anniversary), so would be fitting if they returned for the 50th

Half moon run released an album earlier this week.

Canadian indie band, this new album is giving me a few Radiohead vibes.

Had completely forgot about these! Used to smash their first album so much when i came across it. Will give this a play at some point today

There's a press release floating about IIRC, that the first poster comes in November, so I would say give it two more weeks end of the month job @TheFullShaboo

Hope this is the case! Did wonder myself if they'd wait for end of month / payday but then quickly remembered forward thinking isn't really FIBs thing ;)

Jokes aside, id love nothing more than a stellar lineup and knowing that ill be returning again next year

  5. If we don't hear anything by the end of the month then there's a good chance that our group will start looking for alternatives. If we leave it any longer and the lineup is on par with last year then we will be priced out of going to another festival overseas as flights and tickets etc are on the rise daily.

The fact that the vote / poll is still up on their website doesn't give me much hope either. Youd have hoped by now they've got the majority of the lineup sorted and that they dont need our input on who we want. If they're still in the process of trying to book acts then i'm afraid they'll be scraping the barrel again to put on a decent lineup...

Slowly starting to look like 9 years and out for me :(

Nick Grimshaw said repeatedly on Radio 1 that they he'd heard they were headlining last year

The odds would presumably just be down to people putting money on them regardless of any actual info, could have been because Grimshaw mentioned on the radio that he'd heard it was them and people ran with it?

Im sure the odds were already low before this as I can remember coming on here to find out Grimshaw had dropped this information and then becoming certain that it was going to be there year.

Im just hoping for a miscommunication in the year that they'd been booked for...

I think someone claimed they had some info they'd been booked a while back, around the same time their odds shortened.

As for The Strokes I'd diplomatically call it a 'healthy debate' as to whether they're worthy of headlining the Pyramid given their declining relevance in current times ?

Just seems strange to me that a band where even their own fans question whether they'd warrant a headline slot - myself included - had managed to have odds of less than evens?

  8. Is the Aerosmith rumour based entirely on the bookies odds?

Didn't the Strokes have odds of less than evens last year but any suggestions that there was anything in it were slammed down instantly?

I’ve got a feeling we’ll finally hear something this week. So what’s the predictions?

New owners have mentioned in 2 separate interviews that they’ll be aiming the festival at the British so I think we can expect acts like Kasabian/Noel G/Libertines, they’ve all got history with the festival, appeal to the brits and are all about next summer

    whats the thoughts

Would love it if they could get tame impala or the strokes

A Libertines / Strokes duo would be enough for me to fully commit.

It'd be incredibly stupid for it not to be them after putting that photo on, surely.

New owner or not, this is still Fib. Vetusta Morla last year were labelled as an 'exclusive' when in reality the only exclusivity was that they were headlining...... they literally played a festival down the road a week later in a non headlining spot

Kasabian, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Foals and Foo Fighters would be perfect for me and my friends ?

Think we would settle for that as well!

Just wish they would hurry up and announce some acts though, few of my usual group are starting to look at festivals elsewhere on the continent....

Pearl Jam for Wednesday headliners then.

Dont festivals usually list the first day of the festival on their tour dates as opposed to the specific date they are playing? Think its quite common practice which is probably to do with forcing fans to buy weekend tickets early on instead of day tickets (excluding Glasto)

  13. 14 minutes ago, Nickdp said:

So tickets December 1st think it's  roughly 160 Euro for four days. They said on FB comments more acts before then. Also they said there will be more rock.

They also guaranteed that everyone who paid for wristband shipping and then subsequently never received them would be reimbursed on the shipping fee. I'm still waiting for mine from 2018.

    Cracking lineup, shit management.

if anyone's going to see Squid on this defo get down early for this lot supporting. Fuckin blew me away

Made a conscious effort to get there in plenty of time for the support act last night and it did not disappoint. Visuals were spectacular and accompanied the music perfectly.

At £10 a ticket last night was an absolute steal

Fancied that but was at Black Midi at White Hotel instead, they were great in the basement in July though. I'm pleasantly surprised at how much attention they're getting at the moment, they're in loadsa publications and made it into the 6Music playlist. Dunno where they'd end up if the played again next year.

Likewise with Black Midi - little annoyed both were booked for the same night!

Considering it was midday they had a relatively decent crowd at Glasto (didnt make the other set due to clashes), so if they contiue to drop banger after banger, like the whole of their town centre EP, then its anyone's guess! Ended with Match Bet last night and IMO it received a better reception than Houseplants did!

  16. Not sure if this is the relevant thread...

Seen Squid last night at Yes in Manchester, and wow, what a gig. Caught them at Glasto and thought they were fantastic but last night exceeded that by far. Their debut EP has been well received so hopefully they’ll be back on the farm.

Probably zero point in taking the list seriously if they’re including bands that aren’t even alive.

Notice Kasabian and Foo’s been removed, probably cause they’ve already been booked...

Yeah im hoping this is the case. Probably just means that reality has hit home though and theyre way out of Benis grasp.

Offspring and Sum41 are nice additions though! Not for everyone but used to be into them both back in School, think they'd go down rather well!
