  1. Just realised that the final headliner is due to play the Saturday so now i'm holding out for The Strokes. Cant take anymore leave at work this year but can easily pop over for the Saturday if it is them.

Went to this festival back in 2015 and was my younger self was shocked at how calm and laidback the festival was - something now id probably appreciate a lot more

Yeah I've done these festivals too and am looking for something different this year. Have you ever camped there? We've booked a hotel in the town centre but were debating whether to go for the glamping.

Ive only ever camped within Glamping. The tents are much better positioned than general with all of them receiving ample shade, have their own separate shower and toilet facilities,  and much more communal space for you and your friends to sit around. Ive had friends who have stayed in Hotels and they all regretted it. During busy years its almost impossible to get a taxi back to your Hotel after the music finishes, whereas if you are camping you can pop back to the tent in 5 minutes if you don't like an act thats playing (and consume the cheap alcohol you have back at the tent) All those in Hotels are stuck in the arena until they're ready to go home.

Yeah, its hot by 8am, but were not going to the festival to have a relaxing week - are we?

Yeah I agree. Especially because rival festivals such as mad cool, bilbao bkk live and primavera sound have announced so much of their lineups!... I think it's amazing value for money but a part of me does wish the festival would announce bands like chili peppers, killers or the strokes like other festivals have announced!

Unfortunately, when it comes to booking big name acts and the depth of its lineup, Benicassim doenst compete with any of those. However, IMO, the logistics, vibe and festival location beats any of the others hand down. Having done BBK, Mad Cool and Nos Alive i can say that Benicassim has a much better feel about the place if you're there to let your hair down and have a good laugh for a week.

I was hoping that they would increase the ticket prices by now which in turn hopefully lead to bigger bands being booked. Weren't the other band supposed to be mgmt and two door cinema club?

Yeah and Biffy Clyro and Sum41.

Add them 4 to the current lineup and all of a sudden its the best Beni lineup for a number of years, which is made even better when you consider how cheap the tickets are!!!

How many acts are people expecting next announcement? Do we think they’ll just release that all illusive preliminary poster some people got a glimpse at and be done with it or will they throw plenty at us? I hope we end up with about all of the line up personally as the waiting around last year (only to be let down) killed me 😂

If the preliminary poster is true then I imagine they’ll be nothing more added in the next way of big name acts. I’m sure someone said that there is 3 larger names each day which you would presume are the final “headliners” of each day?

  6. With The Strokes being announced for Primavera surely we should be expecting at least 1 UK date during their time over Europe? Surely Glasto seems the most likely due to its relatively closer timeframe than any of the other festivals? Unless Primavera is the start of the tour and they play the UK near the end...

Hoping that information floating around last year was current but just for the wrong year...

Totally agree... I might just be getting old, but i personally loved the stages shutting down around 2, have a bit a leisurely walk back to the tent, a nice smoke, and get a decent amount of sleep before the baking sun got me out of the tent at 8am!  Meant I could sustain myself all weekend pretty much.

I agree, the older i get the more the logistics of the festival start to appeal to me. Being able to pop back the tent and back out in less than 30 minutes from wherever you are is a life saver, as is the 2 minute breakfast run each morning for a quick bap!

Does anyone know if theres a separate announcement for south beach? Just had a look at previous years and there was good facts.

Yeah I think there was an announcement for it one year. Usually the names are just thrown in with the big announcement and then closer to the festival they break down which ones are playing south beach!

They are a pain in the arse with them stupid price changes and constant posting crap on social media. They just look like liars.

Couldn't agree more. Personally don't think the new social media team is any better than the last one! With these constant 'Price Change Tonight' posts its hard to get excited about anything and gives us no insight into when they'll be announcing anymore names.Usually a price change meant new names on the way but now it just seems to indicate its a new week...

  10. Following recent comments on social media it seems the lineup announcement is imminent!

Definitely the best small scale festival i've been too, find it very hard to pick on any areas that need improvement!

Few people moan about the early close each night (think its around 1am) but if you go as hard as most people do from midday then this shouldn't be an issue at all. If anything its the perfect way to ensure you get a few hours shut eye ready to go again the following day!

  11. Maccabees - NME Awards 2016 - Under the bridge, Fulham

Entered a ballot and won 2 tickets for this 100 capacity gig, free alcohol all night and was basically stood on stage the venue was that small.

Not sure this will ever be topped.

I missed out on the normal tour annoyingly so at least I have this now. Didn't think it would sell out so quick, well only Leeds did on the day - that was frustrating!

Yeah I missed out on the 10 year anniversary tour but this more than softens the blow. Been wanting to go a gig at Brudenell for a while and what could be better than this!

  13. I know im on my own with this one, but i actually preferred some aspects of last years to previous editions mainly because of the lack of sales. Admittedly it was borderline embarrassing turning up to some acts and being able to walk straight to the barriers (think TEED had 12 people at the start) but it had a lot more positives; no queue at bar, plenty of room to have a dance without having to stand right at the back, easy to find the rest of the group in the crowd when people went to watch different bands, 5 minute walk from tent to main stage with no traffic and minimal queues for anything in the town.

The RHCP year was fantastic lineup wise but was probably one of the worse years ive attended - way too many people on the site!

Looking at glamping - does anyone know if getting the easy deluxe is worth it over the easy ?

I wouldn’t bother, we just go for the standard easy tent and buy an air bed from the town centre, can pick one up for about 20 euros there. Or if you can’t be bothered carrying it back from town they sell them in the campsite for 25.

Have stayed in glamping every time I’ve gone and can’t recommend it enough - any questions just give me a shout
