Why are people so obsessed with what acts random people are talking about anyway? The average person has a limited interest in music and doesn't go to gigs or festivals. I only talk about music with my friends who I go to gigs and festivals with. If someone talks to you in the office they say "hi" "yeah good thanks you" "good". They don't go "here's a list of all the music acts I have heard of". Who even talks to random people about music anyway? Imagine having to be like "yeah did you listen to the new Dry Cleaning?" and not fucking melting on the spot. And don't get me started on asking your own mum to validate Glastonbury's headline bookings... Fucking hell!

My dude, you might not have friends going to see them but they're playing the O2 Arena. I know you're eager to show that they haven't sold it out, but they're playing it and that's enough to suggest they're a sizeable commodity. For a second time as well. They're a big band that people know. Some normies might not, but not every act has to have ubiquity.

Tribes on the main stage at Latitude is promising for like a very early Other Stage slot or something, rather than me having to be the only person in the crowd at William's Green other than @Somto Unigwe Raphael and being slapped by the eFestivals flag.

It's pretty standard Latitude to have one or two dud Obelisk headliners and a killer undercard. No surprises there. Would be right up for Feebs, Foals and Fonts.

Yeah. They’re good now though and we still wouldn’t call that and Oasis much of a muchness. It’s just frustrating how people are so dismissive of Meg’s input and the iconic dynamic between the two of them. They wouldn’t have been as big or interesting if it was just Jack and others as it is now. I think a lot of the historic (not you) mockery of her comes from a backwards place and, well, I think her place in their legacy is worth preserving. Even that aside, watching back them two powering through their live shows and then Jack doing their songs with seven others on stage… It’s the original all the way. Not an argument for the subs thread though, I concede.

Well, we are getting the feeling that acts are likely to be underbilled this year due to being holdovers so maybe they won't correct her billing towards her 2022 status.

I get the feeling it'll be a pretty strong year. Quite a few good acts touring around that time, and some big names without a UK festival date. Plus, they already got Bastille out of the way last year. Modest Mouse and Phoebe Bridgers are a good start. Don't fuck it up!

'Summer' was all we've heard officially so far, I believe. Would fucking suck if it's just after Glastonbury. Suck for you, because I'm seeing them after Glastonbury.
