Heard from? Looks like we may not find out what the big secret is as soon as we'd thought/hoped if that's the case

Nah even without the big secret we surely knew this would be the case? Other opener if there is one, Park secret sets such as The xx who a lot of us are expecting, as well as others spread through the line-up like we always get.

Well they liked the tweet.... dunno what that means though. Be amazed if by this time next week we aren't all moaning about clashes.

I can't see that they've tweeted or favourited anything relating to an announcement soon?

You missed a couple pretty much having sex in the crowd at Sigur Ros.

WTF do you drink FFS? Shitty Seagull's 'Hot Laxative' IPA?

I was in a not-great way that night after being given some gifts by our good man Couchy at Editors.

Tbf we did all tell you that for months in advance, Will.

Did you make a dirty protest?

Tbf despite them being shit I didn't miss anything I cared about as I saw Sigur Rós at Citadel a few weeks later.

I didn't but I did almost poo myself during it which wasn't fun.

Drones aside I'd lose my shit over an Obama appearance. A wee speech on the Pyramid followed by some impromptu jamming?

I felt the same about Muse last year but it was terrible.

  6. Hope it's coming with the full one.

If it gets its own announcement then that, plus T&C, could push the biggie into the following week, which would be annoying.

But the last few years the biggie has come right at the end of May/right at the beginning of June, and I doubt they'll want to push it even closer to the festival.

Last year the full line up dropped 22 days before gates opened. The year before it was exactly the same. In 2014 it was 34 days.

Announcing it the week after next would make it just 2 weeks before gates open, which seems ridiculous. We've been told Tuesday morning by someone on here which would give us 22 days, same as the last two years. Seems very likely to me. Or if T&C announce separately next week then the full thing on Thursday or something.

There already isn't really enough time imo to get to grips with the full thing and familiarise yourself with a decent chunk of the lineup. I avoid really bothering doing so when the area posters drop because I cba making more clashes for myself. But when I've done my clashfinder I like checking out the acts who fall in gaps in my schedule so that I don't end up missing something good for no reason.

  7. When they were announced, Songhoy Blues posted a pic on Instagram of them playing the Pyramid and said they can't wait to do it all again. They may have just meant they can't wait to play Glasto again but I read it as them saying they're playing Pyramid again. Definitely don't seem like an Other band, anyway.

The BBK info came directly from Emily didn't it?

Emily said they're headlining Other but didn't confirm a day. On the day she revealed that, Neil got updated info to say they're Sunday (he'd previously had them pegged as Saturday).

Can I just say that as a fan of neither act I find it quite bizarre that people on here seem to think that George Ezra couldn't possibly be playing 4th down on pyramid but that The National can be sub headliner.

If I asked any of my friends who aren't that into music who Ezra is then most would say a singer, a few would say the guy who did Budapest, probably not much more. If I asked them who The National was they'd say they thought it was a horse race.

Seriously don't get why people on here think they're a big deal. same is true of The Flaming Lips, although they're a little more famous.

Meh, ask a random person in the street about music and they're probably more likely to have heard of Rag'n'Bone Man (mid-Other) or Clean Bandit (JP sub) than Arcade Fire (Pyramid headliner).

The National headline decent sized festivals such as Latitude alongside acts like New Order. They played the O2 Arena on the back of their last album. They'll be subbing.

I've said this before but I think Glasto happily book these acts knowing that they'll draw small crowds. There will be a decent portion of Glasto attendees (a lot of whom are on here) who wouldn't go if they didn't book the likes of Radiohead, The National, LCD Soundsystem, Massive Attack, Portishead. These acts are huge in their own circles and at more niche festivals, so if they aren't offered big slots by Glasto they just won't bother and will go and do their own thing. Therefore Glasto's only option is to either give them a higher slot than their inevitable crowd size will justify, or miss out on them altogether and lose that portion of the crowd I mentioned above. Plus if Glasto stopped booking these acts and replaced them all with Biffy Clyros and Disclosures (who'll draw big crowds) then it'd lose a lot of the rep it's built up.

George Ezra had a couple of hits 2 or 3 years ago and hasn't been heard from since. He's got naff slots at other festivals and doesn't seem to be making the step up from the slots he was getting in 2015 (when I think he played 5th down the Pyramid).

Are King Gizzard down twice on the Sunday on purpose? Can't see them doing Other and JP. Can see them doing one or the other then a set at William's Green,

Yeah it was on purpose but I've now removed the Other one to fit Whitney on there. They are doing three sets, mind. Probably only one on a major stage though.

Going back a bit but in 2003, the Furries headlining the other stage, the crowd was pretty 'light' - everyone was at Radiohead - but the people who were there made it a great gig. I got chatting to a couple next to me who were on some crazy jungle juice which they duly shared with me, so I reciprocated by sharing the bottle of schnapps I had with me - made things fairly lively! During the usual sfa techno finale I was so wasted I charged down the front completely forgetting my new friends, never did find them again...

On the subject of sharing drinks at SFA, I saw them alone in 2015 and shared my rum with a few guys next to me in an attempt to make friends. Found out afterwards that the main guy I'd been sharing it with was @Badlands from this forum.

I don't remember the end of the show. In fact I only remember tiny tiny bits of the show as a whole. Remember one of them holding up signs saying things like 'applause'. I have a memory of coming back into consciousness at some point sat outside some tipi playing music with some 30-ish year old couples, stumbling back to my tent, trying to piss in a can in my tent, golden showering myself, the inside of my tent and someone I'd met and made friends with that weekend (you know like when you put a spoon under a tap), then waking up the next morning to find my friends who hadn't seen me since RTJ/The Libs the previous day.

    A good night.

Yeah i definitely wouldnt be surprised to see them on the bill so i just think the beeb have let slip a bit early! They probably wouldn't have deleted the tweet so quickly otherwise!

Unless the line-up is coming tomorrow I wouldn't have thought the BBC would have seen it, though, and it sounds like the line-up is coming next week.

Edit: And if they realised the band they tweeted about aren't even playing Glasto they'd surely delete it straight away.

William - when can we expect expertly researched full prediction of the major stages? Feels like we have enough new info now to justify one?

I posted one earlier in the stage predictions thread at the request of my good friend @MattDavies__.

Unless you mean another one in light of this Stormzy bombshell. In which case I cba I'm afraid.

Havent checked if it has been mentioned prior, but earache claim they'll finish their line up start of June ( i.e as of next week ) so will that be same time as everything, or post the last of the major acts??

Yep I would expect that will come with the big announcement.

Saying that if its glasto related its gotta be that hasnt it? Not sure if liam or noel solo would qualify as this 'massive suprise theyve spoken of

An Oasis reunion in 2017 would be nigh on the biggest act Glastonbury have ever booked, and pretty much the biggest booking they could make. They're not going to announce that as a last minute add-on in a non-headline slot.

Some of these suggestions are ridiculous.

It's obviously going to be something about his new single/album.

was one of these by any chance me? i was handing out joints to everyone in the pit area haha :D

Haha if that's you in your pic then sadly not. I didn't actually make it to the pit, was stuck near the sound desks

Aye, true. Plus I'm almost 100% most of my friends will want to do as you have suggested, which may involve going to see Paak alone and then not only getting a shit spot for Radiohead, but having to stand it it by myself. Which would suck!

This happened to me for Kanye and was really annoying (although I ended making friends with two guys near me before he came on who shared lots of things with me, so could have been worse).

They went to the Pyramid for Paloma Faith onwards. I turned up mid-way through Pharrell and couldn't get inside the front barrier at all.

Would be ideal (for me) if that did leave RTJ as Friday hip hop slot

Thinking about it where else would they play now they're not of WH line up - evening slot on other? Maybe JP headliner at a push- though are they already lined up?

Hoping and predicting they're Saturday JP headliners. No one at the Pyramid would have a clue who they were and I don't think they'd stick them there when they've got much better alternatives such as Stormzy and ATCQ on the bill.

god spot the odd one out ... why on earth is george ezra there?? surely common sense prevails and Lorde gets that slot?? (maybe selfish reasons :P)

out of interest, where do people see Haim??

Other sub is a bigger slot than 4th Pyramid and that's where I have Lorde.

HAIM Other sub or 5th Pyramid.
