  1. Thought I was okay when I got home yesterday but today I'm so sad. All I've done so far is watch Glasto sets and unpack. Last year I was fine but 2015 I was so sad for like the week following the festival. Hope I'm not the same this year. I'm back at work in 2 days which will probably help; in 2015 I had a week off as soon as I was back because I'd had an ingrown toenail removed. Couldn't wear shoes and my dad was on holiday so I was basically stuck at home alone with nothing to do but watch the Glasto sets back. Really craving a Chinese now that I've read this thread.

  2. Was fucking amazing, this. Hadn't read any of the stuff about Mike's mum beforehand and thought he was joking about her dying when he said she's somewhere laughing.

Watching it back now and it looks amazing still. Peeped @Mash011 bouncing around during Lie, Cheat, Steal on iPlayer.

I barely remember it. I had to go for an enormous piss about 3 songs in. I remember thinking that was odd that I'd need a piss, because I didn't think I'd drank anything, then as I was pissing I thought to myself "ah yes, that's what it is, I drank fucking loads". Rest of the night a bit of a blur, morning after my friends were urging me to eat a lot and drink much water and coffee before getting back behind the wheel. If there's loads of rum left on the final night and you're driving back, just leave the rum, that's what I learned.

I need to learn to do this even though I wasn't driving back. Took all my remaining alcohol to Biffy and downed it all pretty much during their set, then got given a shit load more at Justice. So annoyed that I don't remember it after waiting 5 years for an opportunity to see them after missing them at Leeds 2012 :)

  4. Didn't think I was that gutted about the lack of Glasto next year but re-watching footage today and reading this thread has made me realise I definitely am :(

Wanna do Primavera but looks like it's in the middle of my uni exams. Outside of that we've said we'd probably just do a holiday instead of going to another festival, but in reality I'll probably end up deciding I haven't got the money to do anything. Couldn't really afford Glasto this year but decided to go for it seeing as it isn't on next year.

Well gutted about being home from Glasto today. Felt nice to be home yesterday for a shower and nice sleep etc but now I just wanna go back. Miss waking up in the Arcadia field and drinking with my mates all day. Miss the friends I've made at Glasto who I only see once a year when we're there. Miss seeing so many of my favourite acts in one weekend.

  5. After leaving Phoenix a little early I headed to a friend's camp to the side of the Pyramid to meet them after they were back from alt-J. When I got there they weren't back yet so I headed over to check out the end of Foos. Realised they were playing Skin and Bones once I was almost there and decided I couldn't be arsed with them so turned back. Heard a shit Under Pressure cover too and then I think the people I was meeting arrived back at camp as I don't remember hearing Everlong (where they were you could hear the stage if you were in silence but not if you were talking).

Couple of my group went and said it was boring af.

  6. Thought Napalm Death were great tbh and I was surprised at how little the crowd thinned out. Didn't seem to be any smaller really when I left towards the end than it was at the start.

We always say this on here but hopefully this leads to some more metal bands being booked. Bands like Mastodon and Deftones would surely go down fine, and they need to give Deafheaven a blast.

  7. Royal Blood, Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters. Thought Foos may wait until 2019 but with the album being out this year I think they'll get em next year. Guess there's a chance of them doing stadiums next year and R&L the following year. Would have said the same about Arctic Monkeys but I think they're the easiest shout for Glasto 19.

Sorry, couldn't say, I only know she's had an email about first dibs on tickets for the replacement date from the one we booked.

So that's a weekend of The National in Manchester on Friday, LCD Soundsystem in London on Saturday, Bon Iver in Blackpool on Monday. Outrageous.

That's silly I'm doing LCD in Manchester and The National in London. We will never come across each other despite the vain attempts every Glasto Sunday night.

Edit: Speaking of which my mate was so confused on the Monday morning as to why I was texting a guy called 'GOML' trying to meet him in the middle of Justice.

About to catch up on iPlayer. I barely thought of them on Saturday; The Avalanches were easily the best thing I saw all weekend, and my big fat prime viewing spot for Solange's set definitely enhanced the experience. Went to Pyramid merch stand on Saturday lunch time, hoping to score a National t-shirt so that I could support them, but no merch.

I'm almost at the end of it now and it actually looks so sick. Someone I was with told me this morning I was so annoying dancing so happily into them so maybe I did actually enjoy it. Think I just remember it being over too soon and there being too much new stuff and wrongly thought I hadn't enjoyed It. Apparently I spent the whole gig facing the wrong way singing back at the crowd, mind.

  10. It was fucking ridiculous. Can't work out if it tops LCD for me but fuck me it was amazing. Where I was stood everyone was loving it and obviously as a huge fan I was very familiar with all the songs but I get why casuals may have been a little bored at the start.

Bit confused by comments about them not playing the hits. They played Paranoid Android, Karma Police, No Surprises, Creep, Fake Plastic Trees, Street Spirit, Everything in its Right Place, Idioteque, There There, 2+2=5. What more could they have done other than play Just and maybe one or two other tracks from The Bends? I agree with others that the order could have been better, though, and the casuals could have been given a hit or two early on.

Let Down and 2+2=5 were the big highlights for me at the time but having just watched it back on TV Fake Plastic Trees sounded like the best song of the night. Did an accidental little cry during Street Spirit.

Also based on my re-watch just now I can see why casuals may have been put off early on. My dad watched the first 20 mins and said it was crap. Gonna try to show him the end of the gig because I feel like he's gonna bail on the Manchester gig based on what he watched.

Anyway, yeah, best I've seen them and blew my expectations out of the water. Everyone I was with thought it was amazing, including a couple of casuals who said it was the best set they'd seen all weekend, one of them saying how they just made nailing Glastonbury seem so easy.

Spotting each other through the crowd for Mr November, what a moment.

Oh was it during the gig? I thought it was after hahaha. I was so fucked, think I remember asking for your number like 5 times after you'd already given me it. Yesterday I went in my contacts and had you saved very badly spelt.

  12. Made it up there for the last 2 songs after realising they were still on when I got towards my tent at Arcadia. Was very good, tempted to hit up the Rock City gig.

  13. Enjoyed this but for some reason I left during Rome to get a pint and then decided to walk off to the Pyramid assuming it was the end of the set. No idea why. Met a nice group of people before the set which was nice as I was on my own.

  14. Woke up in my porch at 5am Monday morning drenched in what I can only assume was my own piss (I have a vague memory of having a piss in my porch in the same area that I woke up in). Checked my watch and saw it was 5 o'clock and couldn't work out for ages whether it was 5am or 5pm the previous day. Then I remembered I'd seen Biffy Clyro so knew it must be 5am. This followed on from how fucked I was at Justice where I apparently annoyed a lot of people walking to the back of the crowd towards the end. Apparently a girl next to me thought the best way to help me in my awful state was to hold me up and give me alcohol all the way through the set much to the annoyance of my friend also holding me up. Had a big old nosebleed during the set but don't really remember doing anything dumb thankfully other than not being able to stand.

I really need to stop doing toilet things in my tent. That's the second time I've pissed all over the inside of it because I decided I was too drunk to get to the toilet.

  15. Not a clue after Arctic Monkeys tbh.

Maybe Beyoncé if she's back around by then, maybe Drake.

Think Kendrick will do Wireless next year and then doubt he'll have a new album by Glasto 19, if he does though he'd probably be a good shout.

Like others have said I'm not sure I can see Foals making the step up now. Feel like their next album will be no bigger than their previous two. Think they're in a similar place to Biffy now and won't make it.

    Maybe The 1975 but I think they'll do R&L instead in 2019.

Like others I'm also wondering whether The Killers' secret set was tied in with a headliner agreement, but it does feel like a pointless booking and I doubt they'd want both them and Arctic Monkeys after 2007 so that'd probably push AM back to 2020.

Don't think Fleetwood Mac or the Roses will do it.

Think Elton would only be given the legends' slot.

No idea. Can we just have Radiohead again?

You also walked straight past me towards the end of Justice. I get the feeling you weren't really paying attention though

Think I was stood next to your mate during Phoenix as well

I literally don't remember Justice I was so fucked. So annoying.

Haha really, yeah two of my mates were there without me as I drunkenly waded off without them after The National before realising after a while I was supposed to be legging it to the JP for FJM. They saw I was talking to some random people at the back of the tent before Phoenix and assumed it was an eFest friend and they were also annoyed at me for bringing someone they hated to The National so they left me to watch Phoenix alone. Also annoying.

  17. Shit setlist, was bored by the time they went into the 4th new song in a row. Very glad I'm seeing them in September now when I'll actually know the songs they'll be playing.

Although I convinced someone I was with after Liam Gallagher to come and watch the start before she headed off to Stormzy by repeatedly drunkenly claiming they were the best band on the lineup. She'd never heard of them but ended up staying for the whole set and missing Stormzy so maybe it wasn't that bad for the neutrals. I guess with non-fans the amount of new songs wouldn't have really made a difference.

Way too many missed bangers, though. And no Pink Rabbits.

I was so fucked I woke up the next morning thinking they'd opened with Terrible Love, which I've now seen they played second to last.

I was at the right hand side of the front section and I don't think anyone around me had heard of The National. Was talking to some guys behind me and they were waiting for Foos and asked if they'd be able to dance to The National..

Saw @Will-2609 at the long drops, because where else would you bump into Will-2609.

Lmao ffs. On top of this I randomly bumped into @MattDavies__ on the Thu morning, @Bignews after Everything Everything, @Spud001 and @aidenlangan95 in RTJ and @Mouseboy11 after The National. Busy weekend.

I also got the feeling I was talking to some eFesters before Radiohead and before Phoenix. So if you were stood with a 21 year old guy in all black and a red bandana losing his shit to Let Down then that was me, or someone wearing the same but an RTJ bandana between FJM and Phoenix, then that was also me.

Praying the second one as a more casual Radiohead man.

I think regardless of what they do tonight we'll definitely get all the hits on Friday.

The Gloaming getting played tonight would be absolute best case. Get that, All I Need, Identikit and You and Whose Army? (and any other non-bangers that have been semi-regulars) done tonight so we can have some rammers instead on Friday (All I Need is good but so many better choices for Glasto).

So Dublin tonight; cannot wait! First time seeing Radiohead.

Really curious about the setlist. Will it be a bit of a rehearsal for Glastonbury and have a similar setlist? Or are they going to get all the deep cuts out of their system before going on the farm?

Either way, it's going to be one hell of a gig!

    Second one I'd Imagine.

  21. My deep cut of choice would be I Never Came but I dunno what its status is in terms of being played live.

Decided to swerve tickets for this tour because of LCD Soundsystem tickets and not being able to afford both. I'll probably try pick up a ticket closer to the time if I can afford it. Can see myself dropping the money on QOTSA and Nick Cave tickets (if I can find any) as soon as my student loan drops in Sept.
