I'm pretttty sure you had info putting Liam on Other, although it was as a headliner alongside Wiley (and another) which obviously didn't/wasn't gonna happen.

Gorillaz and Liam are pretty interchangeable for those two slots imo. Can't say I'd be too excited to see Gorillaz live after their new album and I'd love to belt out those Oasis songs Liam's been doing in a stuffed little tent so definitely hoping it's Gorillaz Other and Liam JP.

Pretty sure it was Justice, Wiley, Stormzy and Liam Gallagher on Other with the first two headlining.

Hold up, wasn't that the original co-headline?

Hmm maybe you're right - my only reference is the Wikipedia entry and it just has them below The Strokes.

Think Pulp just subbed them in 2002 and then they obviously co-headlined in 2011.

Looks amazing. Imagine if you got some of those deep cuts too - your Windowsills, In The Backseats. Man. Wish I was about for the York Hall gigs.

Yeah was slightly annoying they didn't do these when they still had quite a lot of time to play with. Lack of The Suburbs was also slightly annoying but I was wondering if that was due to not being able to fit a piano on stage for Win. Not sure if he could have used any of the other sets of keys that were on stage, though.

Muse to get a long set? The last time there were just 8 bands on Main was 2013 when System had 75 minutes and Green Day had two and a half hours.

That was only because The Pretty Reckless pulled out. If they managed to fit 9 acts (originally) on the main stage with Green Day playing for 2.5 hours and System playing for 75 mins it'll be a bit naff if they don't bother adding another act to that day.

Yeah, I'd imagine Liam will probably play for an hour and fifteen, rather than the usual hour that subs get. Was it 30 Seconds To Mars in 2011 that had that? I think The Libertines did in 2010 too.

I wonder if Muse will get two and a half hours as well.

Muse only got 1.5 hours at Glastonbury. No way are they playing for 2.5 hours at R&L. Think they overran a bit at Glasto so maybe ended up playing around 1h45 (played a similar length on their own tour, too), so they could get a 1h45-2hr slot, but nothing to justify one less act on the main stage.

Also the secret set will probably be on the Sunday main stage then too

One less act on Friday NME than the Other days so it'll probably be there.

It all seemed very spontaneous.  Win shouted at the sound guy to cut the lights during Sprawl 2, and then told him to keep them off.  It took a while for everyone to twig to turn their torches on (the sound guy even got confused after the first verse and thought it was time for the lights to come back on, before Win shouted at him again), but by about halfway through the song the lights were everywhere.

Playing Wake Up acoustic was spontaneous too.  Will had jumped off into the crowd during the previous song.  Win said "Where's Will?!  Will Will Butler please report to the stage?"  Will kept running around the crowd jumping up and down and then hiding again.  Win said "That's it, give me an acoustic guitar", put down his electric guitar and told the sound guy to cut all PAs except a few mics for singing.  My jaw hit the floor!

I thought he told them to turn the lights back on?

Anyway it was amazing the way it happened.

There's zero chance they're not gonna do all the hits at Glastonbury - it's just whether it'll be an OK Computer focused set of hits. The deluxe edition really does seem too conveniently due for release on that Friday for a reason. I'm sure most Radiohead fans are pretty much expecting it now.

I feel like it's more likely just to capitalise on the publicity of the Glasto set on BBC. Think we'll just get a usual selection of OKC songs.

There's no chance they're releasing a deluxe edition of OK Computer on the day they headline Glastonbury and then opening that set with Daydreaming.

    Bet they do tbh.

So  reaction the moment they were unveiled as the Other Opener, then?

I've now reimagined the collective groan from the crowd as being the same sound @Will-2609's turd made when it dropped onto a plate.

Would be slightly perplexed by a groan from a crowd sounding like Anthony Joshua swinging a mallet onto a concrete slab. I have never heard a louder impact.

  7. Is the rest of the new ATDI album as bad as the first single? Mate sent me the tour poster earlier and I considered going but then remembered the new ATDI material.

So what is everyone's plan now that the schedule is out? I will almost definitely be watching the XX so hoping I will be able to get a nice spot for them into Radiohead. Maybe the much-touted back of inside barrier, but will have to play by ear...

I'll be watching The xx but will be turning up not long before they're on because of Angel Olsen. Will try and position myself at the side for The xx and move into the front section once they finish

Yep, last played it at Reading in 2009. I reckon it's possible  it'll get played at some point this year, they've had it written on setlists but then played something else instead.

Think this is just because they always had something written down instead of Creep for whatever reason. I don't think they ever planned to play Just.

Yeah I know that. I didn't just use Facebook likes and twitter followers tho did I? Biffy have sold more albums and headlined more festivals than courteeners. The statement was "courteeners are bigger than Biffy" which is complete and utter bo**cks.!!

    He was joking.

And Biffy are never headlining Glasto. If they weren't on the slide now they wouldn't have taken a sub slot at Glasto as it'll only hurt their chances of headlining in the future. Its the biggest indicator we've had so far they're losing stock in the eyes of festival bookers.

They also co-headlined R&L last year with Fall Out Boy, 3 years after headlining it outright. They're getting smaller.

What was that about not wanting them to do new stuff?

But yeah, I'm obsessed with it. Brilliant tune. They've still got it.

Yeah just because I don't want half the setlist to be stuff I don't know. Stuff that's been released I'm fine with.

    Oh man.

No I haven't seen them in Oman. Seen them most other places, though.

Edit: Was this a joke about that drone crashing into the crowd at the O2?

Maybe it was because it was the first time I'd seen AF, but I couldn't fault that 2014 set. Reflektor's keyboard breakdown was incredible, the Suburbs was beautiful. I remember it, but I was absolutely spannered mind!

Was my first time too, mate. There's absolutely nothing I could fault about the set, but it just doesn't seem to have left that much of an impression on me. Same with Massive Attack on the Sunday which I can't really remember anything of. Loved both at the time but just can't recall either now, very well.

I remember* it being absolutely incredible, although I was the total opposite of sober.

*dont't actually remember much of it at all - just that I loved every second.

Sounds a bit like me with SFA in 2015. Ask me how good it was and I'll tell you it was unbelievable. Ask me to recall any of it, and I don't remember any of it specifically.

It's a great song on record but Regine really didn't do herself any favours back in 2014.

To be fair I can't actually remember any of their 2014 set. And I was sober. Guess that says something, I was slightly disappointed tbh.
